I have one of those Bernz-O-Matic boxes and torch. I actually used the torch today trying to take the head off my frost-free hydrant. Did not get it off so I need another plan. I'm thinking it doesn't leak all that much so maybe I'll leave it alone.
Dd it come with the soldering tip?

I had never seen one before I found that set in the work shop of The Priness's uncles shop after he passed. He was wn electrical engineer ane I got the impression he used it one time when he had to solder some honkin big wires.

That is nice!

This Video...

From Engels coach works ...

Talks about how he uses those in his work to rehabilitate wagons, coaches, and sleds.

He is a true tradesman and his videos go a long way toward preserving knowledge that would go with his passing.

My great grandfather was a wheel wright/blacksmith. I was maybe 2-3 when he passed. Never knew him, but would have loved to watch and learn from him.

Wheel wrights and blacksmiths were the technoweenies of their time. I originally stumbled across him when trying to learn how to steam bend wood to make curved arches. His comments steered me away from using oak when he said it turns black when steamed.

Thanks! I might try one of the ones mentioned rather than vinegar & see what happens. I've had pretty good luck with vinegar as far as that goes so if they work better that will be great.

OK, I was wrong I have a brand new Turner propane torch kit. The rev level on the manual is from 1/15/82.
The kit is complete and never used.
The other box is the one my Mom kept all the funeral cards and obits of people she knew. I put her card in the box.

I have old hammers, saws, brace & bits, panes, hand meat grinder, manual grease guns, carpenters Square & turn screws.
Turn screw are old screw driver, they have a flat at the top of the shaft.

Here is TOW’s set of three reproduction “London Pattern” Turnscrews that could have come right out of Wyke’s catalogue, though the blades are hollow ground to properly fit today’s parallel slot gun screws. https://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/PartDetail.aspx/120/1/TURN-SCREW-SET-F

I have an anvil, tongs & a pole vise also.
