I met a lady once at an event, and one of the first things she asked was "are you monied?" I had no idea what to say so I laughed. Why would someone ask that? Eek.
That's when you do a deliberately slow staring sweep of her - her eyes to her toes, then back up to her eyes - and say, "I can see why you might think that."

I've always wanted just enough money to do what I wanted but never had it, I never wanted to be filthy rich, the Euromillions lottery is currently £104 Million, what the hell would I do with all that?

They say, "Money can't buy happiness." True, but it can make being unhappy a LOT more comfortable! :)

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is better. ;)

I grew up in a wealthy family, my parents went broke, our house burned down, and at 16 I ended up camping in the woods with my mom for 6 months. I've made and lost a couple of small fortunes since, and slept in my pickup, more than once. Not private jet and mega yacht wealthy. But beach house, and Piper Archer wealthy. These days we are "comfortable" but we are being squeezed. The plane and beach house are gone. It was in SoCal, so good riddance... Next to go is the Corvette. The $250 a night hotel suites we used to enjoy are now $850. I'm looking at campers. My $35,000 truck will cost $75,000 to replace. And I'm starting to look at ammo as an investment alternative to the stock market... ;)
