In a cabin, on a mountain, in "Wilderness" Alaska.
Need to soften up some "BrandNew" clothing. I think this would go in the drier thingie.

You're talking to Sourdough, toss in a mountaineering boot.
I assume I'll need to remover the steel ice climbing clamp-ons.

Actually, please don't use fabric softener. It's toxic and I can sneeze from it by walking in the front of the store. You can add a cup of vinegar to your rinse water and it will also soften the item. Rock salt like for water softeners works as well but is harder on the washing machine. Both of these items have multiple uses (and do not make me sneeze ;) ) then go ahead and throw the boot in the dryer with it and you should be good to go.

Our washing machine (front load Samsung) has been stinking, even after the 3 hour self wash I place it on monthly. Reading the fine print, along with doing my own research online, they are all saying that fabric softener is the leading cause for gummed up and heavy smelling washing machines.
