They will always start out with a lower lease at first but be certain that there is a review at the end of the lease period cause the more volume of use the higher the monthly payment.....The shop where I work had one put up by the cell provider and now 20 years later the monthly payment is $3200 and every time they install more antenna or expand service the payment is up for review.. not a bad retirement bonus

My question was not meant to imply you made up the statistic.

Quoting from the Smithsonian link you provided: "According to the current literature somewhere between 140,000 and 328,000 birds die each year from collisions with wind turbines."

Web post 11/2018 from the Washington Post indicated there are 57,636 wind turbines in the United States.

140,000 / 57,636 = 2.4 birds per turbine. 328,000 / 57,636 = 5.6 birds per turbine. This is assuming the Smithsonian research on bird kills included the United States only.

Let's go with "Each windmill kills thousands." Thousands is plural. More then one. Let's assume they mean a minimum of 2,000 birds. 2,000 birds X 57,636 wind turbines = 115,272,000 birds killed annually. I would think that in a few short years the bird population would be totally annihilated. I haven't seen a reduction of birds in my neighborhood.

I think it is 500 per month not year.

I think they forgot the FUGLY factor. Kinda like the PITA factor, it costs more.

52k for 20 years in one chunk or 6k per year for 20 years?

How long do you plan on being around? Can they put it far enough away you can't see it from the ground?

Comes down to 52k vs 120k

The "FIRST" thing I need to learn.......is are they safe to live near......???

What is the health risk........???

At my age I would take the lump sum. I figure to be gone to heaven in two or three years.

Lawyer first then ask for changes like I mentioned before and one more big item... be shoe to have included in the contract that if the tower is abandoned the cell company is responsible for the removal...very big bucks there.

"If easement is required, find out who has to maintain it. "
I had an easement on my land that was covered with 20 inch mixed woods & my lawyer said I did not have to maintain it. The adjoining plot never ask about it they use a driveway on the backside of they land. Not my problem now, I sold the land at a good price.
