Maybe it’s because of Covid; maybe it’s just society breaking down, but I’ve noticed an alarming increase in drug usage and crime this year. It could be a portent of things to come in 2021.
in past times when civilisations collapsed the survivors were able to access their daily needs by their own labour and simply sit back and wait for "society" to reassert itself-no matter how long that took, these days with people welded to their technology, electricity and the fragility of the global supply chains this will no longer be possible for the majority of the population, they will simply fail and die in their millions in the cities waiting for help that never comes. That's what I was going to say, when Rome fell there weren't that many people on the planet and the technology was still rather brute. Today there are very many people on this earth and most are very technology spoiled, if there is a crash that goes over everything, very many people within a short time either go crazy and these will be with the others very quickly away from the scene, sounds tough but will be so. Most of today's people are too spoiled, no longer know what sacrifice is, especially you no longer know how to survive with simple means, these people do not even know how it was after WW II for many, that would already be for many of today's generation of death.
No offense, I hope not that our civilization once makes such a crash, that would have indescribable consequences.
In meantime you can even run into problems if you critizise all the Covid restrictions or if you critizise the government to much.
Here as well. The sheriff’s office just added a mobile station near my neighborhood bc of shootings and break ins.Maybe it’s because of Covid; maybe it’s just society breaking down, but I’ve noticed an alarming increase in drug usage and crime this year. It could be a portent of things to come in 2021.
We'll just have to wait 12 months to see. But I do agree that we can all work at making ourselves and our situation better.2021 will not be better, but we can be better.
No truer words have ever been spoken, we can all do things to improve our lives as well as others around us and prepare for whatever life sends our way. To all my DPS family stick together, stay safe and we will prevail. We'll just have to wait 12 months to see. But I do agree that we can all work at making ourselves and our situation better.
After taking care of my MIL for a couple years I can totally understand the "I'm sure glad that responsibility is off my shoulders". It can be a lot and honestly a full time job, althought I still think about her almost everyday. . . I have her things constant;y around me. . . she would be so upset if she saw her china right now that was given to her by her uncle. . . Really need to stop by a jewelry store to buy the spray. Tarnex and the others I have tried are not cutting it.@LexiRae , I used to have to drive down to S.A. every 3 weeks or so to look in on and monitor my mother's health and care at Freedom House memory care facility at Air Force Village. She had Alzheimers. I deeply miss my mother, who passed away in 2015, but man, I'm sure glad that responsibility is off my shoulders. Was exhausted just from all that driving for 10 years after my Dad died in 2005, but S.A. has always had more than its fair share of crime for Texas in general. I just recently mentioned to my husband I'm sure glad I'm not driving down there (often by myself) all the time anymore, with all this negative economic impact going on around the nation.
I'm afraid 2021 is not going to be any better...........much worse actually.
...........In the US, we have another solution offered by a big company, U-Haul. Don't like where you live? Rent a U-Haul truck, load your stuff up, and drive it and your stuff to a place where you will live a more happy life.
