I grew up camping with family, we had some really great times and traveled thousands of miles. Camping is apparently in our blood... My sister and her family have always had campers and keep upgrading. My niece and her family - they started with a top of line trailer camper. My mom.... she retired and traveled the country for 8 years in a motor home that's nicer than my house.

Anyway, I heard about this site by word of mouth. I knew I'd like it from the get go because of green background. 😉

I'm a conservative and a gun owner. Both of which got me into posting on forum boards. I've done political boards but.... I can do without all the confrontations about who's right and who's wrong.

I'm hoping to pick up on some good information here about prepping and country living in general. I'm currently a city dweller, but living in the natural beauty of the world is where my heart is.

Welcome to the forum. Just FYI, all new members are vetted by the staff, in order to keep spammers and less than honest folks from getting in here. Also, your first 5 posts are usually vetted as well. We care about our members!
Maybe I should have left more cookies on my computer to look worthy? Or offered cookies for all on a plate? LOL

You'll all get to me as somewhat of joker sometimes. ;)

Welcome from Ohio. Not that I have any pull, but I like chocolate chip cookies :)

Wow, this finally posted. ??? I mean at first it seemed it didn't post.

Anyway, Hi all. I'm liking this site already and I've looked around enough to know I'll like it here.
Glad to see you here and thank you for telling me about this forum.

As you notice, I didn't mention camping in my "hello" post. That's all I'll say about that. 🤐

It was passed on to me via the grapevine, I could say, and from good people I consider friends. I thank them.

And yes, I figure you like camping as much as you like tire shopping. :(

Hello and welcome from the rocky mountanins of montana. We camp a bit here but dont have far to go to be in amazing undeveloped camping areas.

Hello and a warm welcome from S.W. Oregon, you've come to a good place, we're all doing pretty much what we preach and are happy to share what works with all our friends here as well as all the new people that have come here.

You all are out-doing me with campers. They all top the one I have in my avatar. ;)

Seriously though, I have a pickup camper. I'm an old biker and like to trailer my old Harley Davidson. And, I can drive out from under the camper and have a usable truck.

About the VW in my avatar: From the time I can remember until I was probably about 12, my parents had a VW van camper. The first was red, guessing '66. Then a white one, then another white one. My dad was VW mechanic back in day, so, well... you know.

The last one was a '71 I think. It was my mom's daily driver too. My dad drove a new VW Beetle Demo, a job perk. The end of VW campers for us was when during a winter storm the wind literally blew the camper of the road with my mom at the wheel. It was a rough ride.... landed on it's side, but my mom was fine.
