I will always carry a case of small bottles water in my car when I travel.

When out on location at disasters with the Red Cross, our cars carry 2 cases of water, a case of MRE's, a first aid kit, 2-3 blankets, a roll of caution tape, and 3 traffic cones, but is specific to my position.

I used to carry cases of water bottle in my trunk as well, prior to trying not to drink from plastic. Blankets: When moving a bunch of stuff, we put layers of blankets on the back seat.
