I didn't.
Friday they finished the roof gutters which means the other 50% is due from the roof replacement.
On the positive side it's a steel roof and my last roof because it will outlive me.

Usually the only thing I pay full price on anything is Strawberry's food, treats.
She's my girl(service dog).
And I pay full price on phone card everything else I buy clearance and put the difference in quart jar for fun activities.
You have really look for deals, most people when shopping don't look on the very top shelf or the very bottom shelf.
That's usually where the bargains are best.
Most people want everything eye level.
I'm willing and able to go searching for items I want at a price I want to pay.
I do this at all stores I shop.
Not just Wal-Mart.
I fixed my dish washer. It was a $20 part, much better than a new dish washer.
@MoBookworm1957 we do the same and hunt for bargains on everything. We also put the savings in a peanut butter jar (we call it the entertainment jar) to be able to buy something or do other activities we want to do as well.
Yep! Love clearance lol and don't forget coupons ( and online codes for discounts). Really helps save the pennies

Waited patiently for 2 long months for the stock-market to put stocks on sale.
I saved about $1,600 today.

Some things are marked clearance, so coupons work there.
But some things are marked Roll Back or Super Saver so get Associate Discount on those items.
So on average I have budget set and go in with list and $ amount.
Don't usually buy anything that isn't on list, without coupons, discounts or codes.
But sometimes just have to have clothes that fit.

I have a massive bill cycle coming up and I found out I only have $1400 left to pay on my debt before I am free and clear and 100%
Out of debt completely.
This pension is all about stocking the freezer with meat and frozen veggies and filling the car with petrol so I can throw every last cent
in the next few months at paying off debt and paying off my car rego, license renewal for 5 years and my yearly pre-paid internet and phone account.
Now until the new year is going to be hard but it will be worth it.
I'm adulting again.

so it's doable.

Busted today as we went to a larger town near us as I had a medical appointment and we decided to have an early celebration dinner for our wedding anniversary later this month.
As it is almost the end of season sales here we decided we would have a look and see what we could find with our clothing allowance budget.
- For me I purchased 2 new long sleeved cotton t-shirts for me on clearance sales for $1.50 ea saving $13 on usual prices. Even in the op shops around here they are $3 secondhand

- Also found a lovely new wool blend jacket on sale for $15 new reduced from $49 saving $34.
- DH found 2 pairs of new going out jeans for him for $7 ea saving $26 on prices elsewhere and 9 pairs of work socks for $5 for a 3 pk saving $15 on usual prices.

Spent money to save money. I switched our 40 gallon gas water heater out for a gas tankless heater. Should pay for itself in less than a year just because it has no pilot light. Then it should save us money every day because it only runs when you need it.
They are outstanding for people that use moderate or less amount of hot water.
If you have 6 kids and half of them are teenagers, not so much.
For a small family, more than half the gas you used was wasted just to 'keep' the water hot 24/7.
Or alternatively if you have a good tank water heater and ours is huge 250 lts then you only turn it on when you want to heat it. We found that ours lasts and the water stays hot for 2- 3 days in winter and 4 - 5 in summer. Ours only takes 3 to 4 hours to heat from cold so we turn it on and off at the switch in the power box as needed.
From reading I read that the electric hot water system heat up 3 hours a day if you leave them turned on. We are a family of 2 with no children so that suits us and all of our friends tell us they would love an electricity bill as low as ours.

I just tell the kids after dinner that I get first shower. With three grandkids in the house, and one doing the dinner dishes (by hand), if I want a hot shower, I go first.
i saved money by taking 6-1 gallon jugs to refill at a water dispencer for 40 cents a gallon each. and used a dirty 5 gallon water jug as a exchange of a full one for a 7.49 total on that..i'll use the water dispense.for the 5 gallon jug next time seeing how that'll only cost me $2.00 next time.
Received our credit card statement- it was the lowest it's been for some time. Yay! It was just over $900 and is comprised of phone bill, groceries, power bill (utilities) any auto supplies like Def fluid, and misc. We are still paying utilities on two homes so considered this pretty good. I am looking forward to having only one household to pay for but in the mean time will do what I can

I knit, crochet, quilt blankets for homeless, domestic violence victims.
When give a blanket to a child, I also give a crocheted toys bear, zebra, monkey, car or trucks.
I also donate blankets to Veterans in Nursing Homes, Tiny Homes(for homeless veterans),Rehab places, halfway houses etc.
I like to think my donations help other veterans, all it takes is my time.
And this is how I give back to my community; 1 veteran at a time.

@timmie Way to go! It gets kinda fun after the initial regular meals. We have had some "interesting" meals when I've not gone grocery shopping (on purpose.)
@hiwall might be sure to keep a few jugs of water in case of emergency. I look at the H2O tank as a holding tank of sorts. I know you're prepared so maybe already have it covered

Went fishing, not shopping
Picked up a new recliner today. The price was $1800 and I talked him down to $1400. It had been in stock for a couple of years so the guy was willing to deal.
@LadyLocust thank you our anniversary no 2 is the 27th of this month so we celebrated really early as DH wanted to go to Sizzlers where they have an all you can eat salad bar and good steaks. We did this as we were doing other errands there.

I want to spend my money but I'm not sure what exactly to buy. I think we are maybe approaching a period of high inflation and if true I would want to buy stuff now when my currency still has some value.
