OMG, and it gets worse, or funnier...

"Another man was injured in 2019 after his hunting partner shot a bear in a tree in North Carolina. The bear fell out of the tree and began biting the hunter. The man and the animal then tumbled off a cliff. The hunter was taken to a hospital, while the bear was later found dead."

Methinks shooting treed bears is not very sporting.

Darwin award....

usually these types of things happen in Florida, surprised this was Virginia
Not me. #3 tries hardest. I can remember when everyone gave Georgia and Alabama *****.

With all the hunters & shooter here I'm surprised that nobody pointed out the first thing that came to my mind. How bad of a shot do you have to be to have to stand directly under the target to hit it? Think about that a minute. Can you imagine this guy hunting elephants in Africa? The guide says there's your elephant, go ahead & shoot. No, first I have to go get under the elephant to shoot, that way I can't miss!

The human race just scares the hell out of me all the time.

Article doesn’t say how close the man was to the bear or the tree. And he wasn’t the shooter.
I’ll bet they have been bear hunting for years.
A shot bear is in attack mode, accidents happen.
I think it’s sad, not funny.
long time ago out in southwest the famous lee brothers who guided and trained and bred world famous hounds had a client on a lion...while it was treed the lion started down the tree and they yelled kill it as it as coming down...client got a bead on it and was to slow in leading it and it got to low and him having no experience lead the gun down into one of the lee brothers just as he pulled the trigger shooting him at base of the tree.....his brothers said he looked at client and said hell man you done killed me and he passed away under the tree the lion had been up. the lee brothers hunted all over the southwest, central and south america too.
