I believe it is a cat 4 now. Storms never really scared me, it’s the flooding and aftermath that can be tough. Good luck to all those here that are anywhere near the area.
OH Mav, the one tree is too close. Sigh.
Just realize we will lose our entire sugar cane crop. We have 40 acres right north of Vermillion Bay (about 10 miles). We sharecrop this out and usually get about 10-20K every 3 years (then soil rest for 1 year). This coming season was harvest. My cousin called and said it was a beautiful crop but after tonite, bye bye.
only 7 away. . .It may hit Cat-5
Vermillion Bay is 70 miles outside the cone, there is hope yet! Maybe it will slip between outer bands.Just realize we will lose our entire sugar cane crop. Glad you faired well there, only hope more areas did too.It seems that we dodged a serious bullet here. Never even lost power here (so far, knock on wood). It's not over, but we are on the backside now it seems, thankfully. Had to keep busy cleaning house along with making cookies and breakfast for dinner since I didn't eat until this morning. Been up since 3:30 so I'm tired. . . I will most likely stay up for another hour but going to sleep soon now that the worst is over.
