Daughter went up to Norway for a week, just to see the northern lights.

You must be in Ketchikan this week. The weather forecast in the copper basin area calls for the type of clear that only -40 can give you. The millions of shiny diamonds scattered across the landscape, otherwise known as ice crystals, will be out in force tonight. By morning I will have a good quarter inch of those crystals to sweep off my truck and deck.

I've seen both the nothern lights from up on the Arctic ocean and the southern lights from down near the south pole. The were some how different, not sure which were better.

I am in Ketchikan right now. It doesn’t matter, if something is going on in the sky wherever I’m at it is cloudy, Bethel, Ketchikan, Palmer...
