In a cabin, on a mountain, in "Wilderness" Alaska.
Early-Early 70's (likely 72' or 73') I bought (3) Three 100 ounce Bars of Silver (Total of 300 oz.) I paid $2.99 per ounce ($299.00 for each bar) I wrapped each in tin foil, and marked each bar "BUTTER". In 76' I got married, wanted to buy a three bedroom house. The house was $53,000.00 with $1,000.00 down. I sold all three bars for $300.00 each. No profit or loss.

In about 92' or 93' I bought 101 one ounce Gold American Eagles. They were new, I paid $20,200.00 for all. Averaged out at just over $200.00 per one ounce gold eagle. Got married the second time end of 95' and sold all of them for $20,200.00 Back to the same dealer.

Lesson was don't get married, no matter how in love with the Lady.

Over the last year or so I've sold some gold, at a profit of around $2200 per ounce. Still have plenty left. Years ago I traded some 100 ounce bars of silver for something I thought I needed at the time.
Now that silver is under $30 I've been buying more. I'll probably just keep all my PM's and give it to the grand kids when I get old. I've already started giving them some silver and copper bars.
