In the front/side pockets is (2) Two lengths of cloth (like Ribbon) rope. What do they secure....??
 
I am guessing that each of the four collum's is a different "style". What does the word at top of the third collum mean in english.....???

Interesting find. Does it actually indicate the fabric? The wool then was courser (generally speaking). If a heavy cotton, should be quite durable by comparison to today’s fabrics.
