I only lost about 6.5 pounds.

I remember of doing some reading about fasting some time ago on a different forum. Fasting can be a really good thing. But there is some math involved for the amount of bodily fat that a person can consume in a typical day of fasting which is probably less than what we might like it to be. The idea of about 1/2 pound a day comes to mind. A lot of times, it will be water that we'll lose. We don't tend to think of water being a significant part of our food but it typically is, plus, it's not too uncommon for fasting to see people drinking less.

So don't beat yourself up too badly if it seems like most of the weight seems to wanna come back right away.

I actually haven't done a long term fast for a good while. About the closest I usually get is OMAD if I decide I'm not hungry for breakfast.

I also find that I get my most significant moves on the scale when I spend a lot of time with the push mower. Granted, lots of sweating and water weight involved, but... I find that when my body sees a lower number for a day or two and doesn't die, it somehow seems to get the idea that it's OK to be there. It's easy enough to put it all back but repeating the push mower thing in short order seems to help me to slowly ratchet down the weight in such a way that my body doesn't rebel. But that's just me. Others might not have the same experience.

For the past few years, I've tended to put on a bit of weight over the winter and take off a bit of weight over the summer. I don't get too excited about it and it's probably a 10 to 12 pound range. That's a lot for some people, not enough that I really notice anything significant, don't need new clothes or anything, just a matter of them fitting a little looser or tighter depending on the season.

I have not lost anymore weight, now that I fast less than 16 hours & am eating lots of dairy.
Before I ate only meat, eggs, butter & milk in my coffee & fasted everyday.
The fast was from 10 to 16 hour a day & up to 24 hour one a week.
I have kelp the 48 pounds off for 10 months, but i should try to loses another 10-30 pounds or so.

I just finished a 73 hour fast. I was going to try and go to bed and put a few more hours on it, but I just lost my motivation. I even came back and read this thread before caving, but it didn't work. I got that esophageal burning type of feeling and so I drank some green tea. That helped, but I was just focused on food! So, I ate. I was going for the autophagy factor, so I'm OK with that b/c that should have cleaned out some bad cells.

I started Tuesday night after an early dinner. I was crabby as all heck on Wednesday so I must've needed the hormone reset. I wasn't hungry Wednesday at all, I think b/c I had it in my head that I was going for at least a 3 day fast. My brain must've known I wasn't kidding and let the stomach in on it. LOL! Wednesday night I slept good and I needed it! That might also explain the crabbiness. I got LOTS of stuff done Thrusday & Friday and wasn't hungry. I didn't have any sciatic pain even though I was moving all day, except for after my workout a bit on Thursday. I logged in 3.3 miles on the elliptical so it wasn't all that surprising, especially considering I did the workout in the evening after being on my feet all day. When I fast, especially after the 24 hour mark I get hit with a CAN DO attitude and instead of contemplating what I'm going to do, I just dive in and do it. I wish I felt that way all the time!

OK, now I'm ready for Thanksgiving!

I will not do more than 24-26 hour fast as long as I have food.
I did do 36 or so hours many years ago, but not now.
Still doing 8-14 hours each day, a few 16, & one or two 20 hour fast.

I've never been a breakfast eater. Coffee is my breakfast most of the time except for maybe when I'm camping or on vacation and the food is already made. So typically a 15 hour fast is not uncommon on a regular day. I really don't keep much track of it b/c it is just the norm.

Even the smaller fasts work well for the body. Many people just eat all day long and don't give it a thought. That can get a person in trouble real quick and also long term. I think the frequent snacking and 3 meals a day have greatly contributed to the obesity in our society. The lack of quality food is another strong factor as well.
