Yeah, but mine was touted as opportunity to perm. Just that this place takes forever to perm. I've been here two years as a contractor, with renewals.
Hi Gazrok, we haven't spoken yet but I read your situation, how has it gone? Hope your Co. got their head out of their collective four-point-contact.
Have you or anybody else reading here, heard of the 80-20 society? Back in 1993, Michael Gorbachov did an Invite to Las Vegas. Only the top 1 % of the worlds elite. Thank God, someone working in the Hotel there got wind of the ideas being spread.
80% of the worlds population on welfare: food, drink, clothes, TV, electric, internet, etc. Live, Die, Survive, Multiply, Kill...who cares??
The other 20 %: Highly qualified, highly paid, separated from the trash, living absolute crime free and in luxury. Running the automated food, water, clothing, electricity and other world needs production to keep the 80% quiet.
The 80% provides the sportsmen and women, prettiest girls, smartest kids to upkeep the 20%. The 20% happy and afraid to do absolutely nothing to endanger their position and end up in or back in the 20%.
Maybe there is still info in the internet and google the 80-20 society. Live free, GP

Sounds more like the Bilderberg Group. I'm a bit rusty on my Conspiracy Theories these days, but I used to be a mod on the biggest site for it. Then got too busy living in the real world. No doubt, there's a lot of spooky crap behind the scenes of it all, but life's too short to worry about things I can't control.

There is a law of economics known as the "80/20 Rule" or the "Pareto Principle" which states that roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.

In 1896 Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto noticed that 80% of the land was owned by 20% of the people. The rule has been expressed in many different contexts. For example 80% of sales come from 20% of clients, 80% of a certain piece of software can be written in 20% of the total allocated time, 80% of occupational injuries are caused by 20% of the hazards, 80% of healthcare resources are used by 20% of patients, 80% of crimes are committed by 20% of criminals. Microsoft discovered that 80% of crashes could be fixed by correcting the worst 20% of the bugs. Etc.

That's very interesting.

Has this been expressed mathematically?

This 80/20 rule reminds of the 4 color conjecture in mathematics, which states that 4 colors are always sufficient to use on a map regardless of how numerous and/or irregularly shaped the different regions are.

This conjecture seems to be a fact, as--literally--billions of different maps have been tried by computer, and no exception has been found.

Yet this rule hasn't been proven mathematically.*

From what you describe, there seems to be a subtle mathematical law in play as far as the 80/20 rule goes.

It seems like this rule would be very important in game theory.

*There is a team of mathematicians who used computers to create a seeming proof of the 4 color conjecture, but this proof ran to several hundred pages, and most mathematicians don't accept this proof for certian technical reasons

Here is the 80-20 Rule expressed graphically as a "Power Law Distribution" where the first 20% of the graph horizontally contains 80% of the area, and the last 80% of the graph horizontally contains 20% of the area.

Thank you very much. I will have to look it up online and see more details, and how it's used. I am, after all, a paramedic, and this 80/20 rule has given me ideas about how to better allocate resources during a disaster, or mass casualty incident.

I need to see if my ideas already exist so that I don't look like an idiot or a crackpot when (or if) I write a paper on it.

Thanks again, very much.

Which side is the power and which is the law? I'm lost. Those with the guns have the power or are they the law or even both?

Both--- The government makes the law and the law is enforced by those with more and bigger guns. Power and Law. Once the collapse happens, then it will be the groups with the most and biggest guns that will have the power and make the laws.

Ok, but I ain't scared-those with the law and guns will disappear in their 2-3 year stockpile bunkers. WE will make the world over with prepping, while THEY are hiding, we will weld, concrete, nail, screw, super-glue and block with tons of our FECES their Bunkers only way out.......cant't wait.
