It's still funny!
I had one of each kind of dog. One was deathly afraid of anything that went "boom" and the other got excited.
I know the exact moment when the gunshy dog became gunshy. We were dove hunting and he was fine until he was watching a dove flying by when someone shot it, and he connected BOOM with DEATH. He ran off and we found him hiding under a bridge.

Because I take my big stick with me when I train them, they go nuts when I have it in my hand. They identify it with going to work. I have to put them in the barn to have some peace and quiet for target practice.

I can target practice down a lane right next to the ponies. They lived for their first 20 yrs on a busy street in LA. They are used to gunfire.

I had a dog one that loved fireworks. When I was lighting a fuse, she would bark at me to hurry up. She knew when it lit, and then would run away.

She also stood at the end of the driveway while I shot bottlerockets at her. They were always too fast, but she loved trying to catch them and would bark at me if I wasn't lighting them fast enough. She'd get down into a stalking/hunting pose while I lit them.

We'd light firecracker packs and toss them into the yard and she'd make big jumping arcs over the pack while they were going off.
