This is a short 13 minute film with a lot a pretty Canadian Yukon Territory scenery. Kristi Noem and a friend both bag a moose right along the bank of a river in YT. From the footage, it looks a lot like Alaska. Not all hunts are this easy. I think it’s worth the watch simply due to the lovely footage.

She put her dog down because it attacked and killed her neighbor's chickens, and then turned to bite her.
I love animals, but out here in the country any dog that gets loose and kills a neighbor's livestock is usually put down. Most often by the neighbor if caught in the act.

Just life on the farm.

We had to put down one of our rescue dogs for killing our chickens.
It was untrainable, it was a hunting breed that had a high prey drive. Wife rescued it from the side of the road, we tried hard but it was no use.
A vet put it to sleep.

and we never did shoot cats or dogs NEVER

OK you will say we are idiots
but we had cattle and those when it was time were sent to slaughterhouse
to be sold for meat

Even my goat was my baby. She lived all her life to the end
and a vet did give her the needle to put her to sleep

No I don't think your "idiots". Your choice. Most farmers and ranchers can go years without even having to put down any problem animal. My son had to shoot his dog a couple years ago. It happens. What's the difference between a bullet and an injection by a vet?

No apology's needed Alaskajohn. This is a forum and people respond to posts in ways you have no way of imagining.
I enjoyed the video, I couldn't find the location but the yukon is a big area... I have ridden motorcycles over most of the connecting roads in the yukon and love the area.

I also once watched Christie Noem ride into sturgis on her horse and then jump on a harley and lead a charity ride.....She made a good impression on me and a few hundred thousand other people that day.

OK... That is fortunate for you that you have never had to deal with predator or other destructive animal issues.. Many have had to ...deal... with many usual livestock and predator issues, some of us seeming to have more ..issues.. to deal with than many.. I've even had to put down domestic livestock that were a threat to other livestock or family.. Just the way it is sometimes..

I had to put down the family dog. He bit a kid. The first bite was free but the second time…. We could have taken him to a vet to be put down, but my way was faster and he didn’t even feel a needle going in.

The vet that was here then eventually tried to commit suicide, with the same drug he put animals down with. Suicide is pretty common with vets, killing animals gets to you after a while. It is not fun to dispatch an animal but I’d rather do that than to pay someone to do it for me and to have them kill themselves.

Killing stuff is an inherent part of farming, homesteading, survivalism and general outdoor/rural life for many people.

People in the third world are much more accustomed to killing or at least seeing stuff killed than people in the first world.

Many first world folks have been isolated from killing all their lives.......they only see/use/consume the products that come from killing done on their behalf.

I have always preferred to do my own killing.....to me it is part of doing your share......being a producer more so than just a consumer.....taking personal responsibility for that which must be done.

Over the last decade or so, I have seen this idea that shooting dogs and cats is less humane than getting the vet to euthanize them by injection, start to creep into the public narrative.

To me this doesn't make any sense.

Dogs and Cats don't like the vet clinic. It is full of the sounds and smells given off by distressed animals that are or were in the consultation/treatment rooms and out the back in the cages.

It is much nicer and relaxed for an old animal to go out for a walk with you in nature......and then when they are looking at the scenery, get shot in the back of the head and have their brain stem smashed and brain mass liquidized. That death really is instantaneous.

When animals are euthanized by injection, they continue to have brain activity for a minute or two even after their heart stops beating. The idea that the process is very quick is actually a bit false.

If you are going to euthanize your own pet by shooting, just use enough gun.....even if that makes the result physically messy.

I don't think so. I watched it. Twice. Because I couldn't believe what I was seeing the first time. I don't know much about that woman but one thing was clear, she enjoys killing things for fun, not for necessity, and she immediately laughs uproariously, gloats and dances around because of what she's done. Like it was orgasmic for her.

That's not the love of humanity on display. I've had to kill animals too, but out of necessity, not for pleasure, and I felt sad about it afterwards. I've known many other farmers and hunters that killed animals but not a one of them did it for fun and they sure didn't laugh and gloat about it afterwards.

The scenery is beautiful, the moose was magnificent before he got wasted for some woman's pleasure and I think there's something wrong with that woman and her mean streak she has running through her. She's an embarrassment to womanhood. I hope she never, ever comes back to Canada again.

And she should remove the false eyelashes, it makes her look like she has a couple of big spiders with extra long legs hiding under her eyelids.

She looked like any other hunter I've ever seen about to make a trophy kill to me, but that includes both my pet wolves and one very awesome Maine Coon cat. We humans are still predators after all, as much as the liberal media wants to breed it out of us, down deep inside us all is a club swinging monster who's thinking:
I just fed the clan for a week! The females will be all over me!

Now I agree, it's damn odd for a woman to have that mindset, maybe she's a cat wearing a mask,

From Wildlife Biology classes ever so many years ago now...
For a healthy animal population a well managed hunting season is a good population management tool that provides license revenue for many species management programs... Even if a species is having issues thriving depending on weather, terrain, food availability and possibly a large number of other circumstances, a cull hunting season can be a useful management tool...

Mother nature is harsh at times... Most people see a species management issue and think it can, will resolve in there life time.. Mother natures time table isn't like that...

My 5 cents of experience..
