An Open Letter to Congress - Charlie's Soapbox 8/24/15

I am a proud American who believes that America has held - and still holds - a very sensitive and special place in the affairs of mankind on Planet Earth. I believe that America has been divinely blessed and protected in our two centuries plus of existence.

I believe that America has been a counter balance that has cancelled out a lot of tyranny, evil and conquest and, admittedly, we have made a lot of mistakes, but on balance we have exerted a certain Pax Americana in the international affairs of mankind.

It took a lot of old fashioned guts for the Continental Congress to stand up to the world's mightiest military and tell them that we demanded our independence, even at the peril of going up against a far superior force on land and sea with a ragtag army of untrained citizens, many who had to supply their own firearms.

It took courage above and beyond for Abraham Lincoln to push the country into a Civil War that he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt would divide this nation for decades.

It took guts to give the order for American troops to storm the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, straight into the face of artillery and machine gunfire, wave after wave being cut to ribbons by German shore emplacements.

The history of this nation is written in the blood and courage of men who stood in the face of overwhelming odds, politicians, soldiers, statesmen and ordinary citizens who sought to do the right thing regardless of the cost or the consequences.

Well, ladies and gentlemen of the United States Congress, it seems that that particular pen has run out of ink. The courageous politicians that once championed this nation have been replaced, for the most part, by a breed of milksop, politically correct, scared of their own shadow, pushover, pathetic excuses for public servants who are supposed to be representing a constituency of citizens who have to live with the circumstances of their timid folly.

You don't even have the courage to face down an out of control president, even when he makes a deal with the devil. Don't you bunch of timid capons even care what kind of world you're leaving to your children and grandchildren, not to even mention the rest of us? Are you really party partisans before you're parents and grandparents or even human beings?

Be honest with yourselves a minute, go into the bathroom and look in the mirror and ask the person you see this question.

"Do I really believe that Iran will not use the money we're releasing to them to finance terrorists to kill Americans, and, when, not if, but when, the Iranians develop their nuclear device, will they really use it against America and Israel?"

You can’t hide from the truthful answer to that question forever, an answer will be required of you one day.

You have allowed Obama to tilt the Supreme Court so far to the left that they're little more than a shameful extension of the Executive Branch.

You have talked for decades about the porous southern border but have done absolutely nothing about it.

You have allowed cities in this nation to declare themselves sanctuary cities where they protect the worst of the worst criminal aliens, American citizens paying an awful price for your silence.

You watch an impossible National Debt balloon completely out of control knowing full well that a day of reckoning is coming that will seriously curtail the quality of life for coming generations.

You allow corrupt government agencies like the IRS to run over the very people you are sworn to protect and allow the entitlement society to expand exponentially while you actually entertain the idea of raising taxes on those who still work and shoulder the burden.

You compose a third of the constitutionally mandated ruling system and you shirk your duty
and allow this nation to move a little closer to the edge every day.

I wish you bunch of sold-out, jaded, burned-out hacks would just go home and let some people who still have some vision and whose consciences haven't been seared past the point of reminding them when they're wrong take over and start to claw this nation back on to the path of sanity,

Your ratings are in the single digits, your morals are in the gutter, your minds are on self-preservation and somewhere along the way you traded your honor for political expediency.

You've violated your oaths, you've betrayed your country you've feathered your nests and you've sat on your hands while an imperial president has rubbed your noses in the dirt time after time.

You're no longer men, you're puppets, you're caricatures, jokes, a gaggle of fading prostitutes for sale to anybody who can do you a political favor.

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

What do you think?

Pray for our troops and the peace of Jerusalem.

God Bless America

We should all stand behind Charlie Daniels, he is a true American with balls and courage and he still believes and holds onto the American way of life, with honor and love for what this country used to be and he is NOT afraid to stand up for what he believes. God Bless Charlie Daniels.

Well said. I don't agree with the Christian mumbo-jumbo involved, but the general gist of Charlie's message is dead on.

Iv met Charlie Daniels at a gun shop I use to work at in the late 80's . I miss his Voulanteer Jam he held each year in Nashville . All the old Southern Rockers played at them and many other Rock and Country bands . There was very little trouble at his events because many of us that attended embrase the Christian faith and know what Christ pulled us out of when we were heading in the wrong direction.

C.D has long been expressing his Faith and Patriotism , Last time I saw Lynard Skynard they were showing the same values .
When it seems all is lost look around there is the American spirit alive and well we just need to band it togeather .

Charlie Daniels, Lynard Skynard, there are many like them. I have the 21st issue off the press of "Free bird" the movie and I keep it in my heart because while others may just be enjoying the music, I know the christian connection Lynard Skynard had to god. They were not about drugs, they were about the real world.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not anti-Christian, or an atheist, or even anti-religion. I simply don't believe that mankind has any real inkling about the origin and purpose of the Universe, any more than guessing. Give it a few decades, and I'll wager we'll figure out that our "known Universe" is really just one small part of an even bigger actual Universe, just as galaxies are light years apart, so too, may be other such collections of galaxies. After all, just when we think we've got it, we realize it just goes further and further. Perhaps our "big bang" was really just one such localized event while other such bangs went off elsewhere in the actual Universe? We simply don't know, any more than the idea of an omniscient being who created us in his own image. (or the creation mythos of any other faith).

That all said, I do think there is some kind of divinity, whether an entity, entities, or even a force of some kind, behind it all, and responsible for our origin. I just don't think we've cracked it yet. Too many things just all fit together to be the result of just random chance. I'm just not so quick to slap a name on it and follow it as dogma...that's all.

We should be studying the spiritual world. I believe our creator is an awareness, a consciousness, an energy beyond what science has named. why does everything vibrate? Every single atom in the universe, trees, water, metals, the earth, the sun, even air and dark matter, it all vibrates and can do so in the negative or positive. Scientists now know that when you feel love, happiness and joy that your bodies vibrational frequency is positive and when you feel sad, angry or hatred your bodies vibrational frequency is negative. Heck, we have discovered that our own DNA does transmit something. this is something that is hundreds of times smaller than the width of a human hair and it transmits something and if it is some sort of transmitter then it's obvious that there is a receiver somewhere that picks up this transmitted signal. For all we know this transmitter could be the link between us and our creator right? When we pray he hears us even before the words are spoken.
What do we really know about our world? Only what we have been told or taught in schools and everyday there is something that proves the textbooks are wrong. Just like Gazrok stated, "we simply don't know" and the truths, when they become known, we the people are kept in the dark and continue to be told everything else that is not the truth because the real truth will shatter everything we have been led to believe is true.
Have faith in and Love for our creator, do not fear him or worry about anything.

Dear Mr. President,

This letter is not written in a spirit of hate, disrespect, nor is it motivated in any way by racial bias and is written with respect due the office and the awesome tasks that have been laid on your shoulders.

I write this letter because I am a tax-paying American citizen who has experienced the American Dream and wants his children and grandchildren to have the same advantages and opportunities that he has had.

And no, Mr. President, I was not born into a one-percenter family, I come from a blue-collar background, never went to college, have made a living doing manual labor and went into my chosen profession at ground level, worked hard and sacrificed to achieve success.

On April 13, 1967, I arrived in Nashville, Tennessee with a wife, a two-year-old baby, a twenty-dollar bill and the clutch out of my car.

I won't go into the mountains and valleys that I've traveled since then except to say that I have been successful and somebody did help me build the business I own. Almighty God, not the government.

I employ thirty people, good citizens and family people, hard-working people, the kind of gun clinging, God-fearing folks who make America the greatest nation the world has ever known.

Mr. President, it seems to me that you have little faith in American ingenuity, American capability, American exceptionalism and even American patriotism.

You seem to think that America needs a monolithic, big brother type government to oversee and regulate every aspect of American life, that citizens are not competent to control their own affairs and make their own decisions without some oppressive bureaucracy to call the shots.

Mr. President, the answer is not government, conversely, the problem is government. A government that has doubled the national debt, increased unemployment, lowered take-home pay, increased food stamp participation and disability claims and introduced socialized medicine.

You support teacher's unions which take political activism more seriously than education.

You surround yourself with inexperienced ideologues and political yes men and take the advice of individuals who are swimming in waters way too deep for them.

Your petulance is unbecoming, Mr. President, and your criticism of anyone who disagrees with you is downright unmanly. You come off like a spoiled child who has been denied his way.

And while you blame your shortcomings on opposing political parties, you had both houses of Congress and the White House in the first two years of your term. Plus an electoral mandate to do just about anything you wanted to, so the least you can do is cowboy up and take the blame for the messes you've made.

Your apparent disregard for the maintenance and morale of our armed services is extremely unwise and dangerous.

Mr. President, the office you hold is not a place for the faint of heart and when you draw a redline you'd dang well better be willing to back it up, because when you don't every tyrant and despot in this world takes it for a sign of weakness and will take advantage, Putin and China being a prime example.

In making any kind of deal with Iran you spit in the face of Israel and plant the seeds of a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

The last report showed that the US economy actually shrunk by .07% while the national debt and other obligations grow by the day.

No matter how many apologists come forth and no matter how much double talk you and the puppets who speak for you come up with, the greatest nation the world has ever known is losing a war with a small army of criminals and thugs that grows bigger every day simply because you don't have the guts to face the problem.

You're running out of diversions Mr. President, slight of hand political policies eventually stop working and lies finally float to the top of water.

Time is running out for you Mr. President and the horrible thing about it is that time is running out for America too.

What do you think?

Pray for our troops and the peace of Jerusalem.

God Bless America
