A couple years ago I read a letter on here that a fella wrote to his friends and family that were failing to prepare. It was a pretty good warning to them.....

Anybody know where I can find it?

do you remember any of the words/lines/sentences of the letter?on account you might be able to use that in search if you do..

I tried that already....I remember the guy saying " he didn't wanna have to shoot his friends when they showed up at his house empty handed"

I have a different mindset though.

I don't mind making my place a prepper ranch, and my friends coming and not prepping.

Why?

Simple. Bodies. More folks to help with gardening. More folks to guard us at night. More folks to go raid for abandoned supply locations. More folks with additional skills we don't have. Especially if these folks are already our friends. Much easier process to vet them.

They bring a mind, they bring labor, and they bring an extra potential gunner in a conflict. They'll earn their keep, don't you worry. So, I make sure I'll also have a place for them to stay. Will it be palatial? No, but it won't be too hard to convert some stable stalls.

I'm already planning to convert one to an art studio. I want to convert another into a vet medical room (that post SHTF would basically be a hospital room). Heck, throw a bed, and a trunk in a stall, along with putting up some shelves, and you got a room.

We have 11 stalls between two stables. One is already converted to a bunny habitat. We only have 2 horses (we board more, but assuming these wouldn't be here after SHTF). That leaves 8 stalls that could be rooms for friends. May not be fully sealed, but they are dry, and it's FL, so not too cold. Good airflow too. Can even rig it up to lock their door (and we're talking iron bars here, so pretty damn secure (stallion rated)). Can even have one be rigged up as a holding cell for strangers, etc. too. (post SHTF of course).

I like the way your looking at it here. We all know we can't make it alone, and I don't remember anyone saying they have a good cohesive group. I do agree that no one will stay if they don't earn their keep, but ideally I'd like a group of 12 or so. Do I have supplies for that many, no. But I do have the knowledge to help them gather and produce at least some of their keep
