We are heading out to the veterinary ER, Sammy has been under the weather and took a turn for the worse! I'll be back on later!! We are having him euthanized tonight!! 30+ minute drive, please pray for us my heart is breaking!!
I know the feeling ... Zoya the Samoyed, Sophie & Lacey (twins, mixed Westie), Bella (Italian Greyhound), Marco Polo (Deer Faced Chihuahua) and my retired Bay racehorse "Bebe" - - All rescues, living to age 13 (except the horse was 30). From 1984 to the present. Only way I can describe it is like having my heart ripped out and handed to me. It's gut wrenching and indescribable. I thought after Zoya that I would never adopt again because they are so intuitive and wonderful, but they don't last as long as us (humans). I had to promise myself I wouldn't get torn up as much knowing this - - but fact is...each time it is still extremely hard. I put their urns and pictures next to this:

I am certain Jesus has them safe in the place he has prepared for us.
I take great comfort in that. The love - - you take it with you.
Many Many Many sympathies and blessings, Pearl.

I guess this thread should get moved to the family pets sections! I was upset and just posted!! For those who don't know Sammy cat's story I will quickly recap! Sammy came up a year ago May, totally emaciated! He lived and recovered, the vet said he would most likely die from organ damage because of such severe starvation!! He developed a swallowing problem a while back. Just two days ago he started having breathing problems! We went to an emergency vet tonight, they feel the large mass in his lungs was a rapidly developing cancer! He is at peace now, I am glad we didn't wait!! He had time here with his 'sisters', Annie and Baby Cakes, he had happy time! He was loved and will be buried in our pet cemetery after the ice storm!! He will be missed dearly, but I am glad he is not suffering!!

I'm so sorry. He was a beautiful furry blue eyed boy.

Thank you!! And thank you all for the support!! He took such a rapid turn for the worse the last hour or two!
That is one of the worst drives to make. You give your fur babies every love you have.
You're welcome. We love you @Pearl It is good you will be staying home tomorrow. And ya know, the other animals know about it too. They feel your sadness.
