shamrock are the lucky one's not the 4 leaf clover.... I won't tell your Daughter n Law though.. ok, am I in trouble
"Shamrock" comes from seamróg which is Irish Gaelic for young clover. (diminutive form of the Irish Gaelic word for clover - seamair )
For all intents and purposes, clover and shamrock are the same thing.
So much for me surviving on local edibles then. I didn't know there was a difference between a shamrock and a clover!shamrock are the lucky one's not the 4 leaf clover.... I won't tell your Daughter n Law though.. ok, am I in trouble
Well, lucky for you both shamrock (clover) and false shamrock (wood sorrel) are edible. Just be careful with the red clover as when it's mature, too much can cause bloating. So much for me surviving on local edibles then. I didn't know there was a difference between a shamrock and a clover!
