It was a rapidly moving front. We're in the tail end of it now, and don't expect any severe weather from here on out. Here is the first damage report I've seen for Georgia: (from Weather.com)

A system producing severe storms that killed at least seven people continued to move across the South on Thursday, downing power lines and trees and damaging buildings in Moultrie, Georgia.

A tornado was reported near Moultrie, in Colquitt County about 42 miles northwest of Valdosta at about 12:40 p.m. Thursday. A Colquitt County 911 dispatcher told weather.com there were reports of extensive damage in the southern part of the county, including trees and power lines down and damaged buildings. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

I drove to a job in heavy rain for 2.5 hrs today. Miraculously it stopped while I had a crane remove a damaged pole and was standing outside. It began again on the way back and just stopped a moment ago. I love it as I call it free watering. I hate garden hose!

Must have been pretty nasty for it to get a mention over here, weird weather at the moment it never stopped raining here in February, but we have now had no rain in this region of the UK for 6 weeks.

The worst of it was far to the west of here - heard some reports from Oklahoma and Louisiana. I think it petered out a little before getting here.

We had some wind this morning and rain but was cleared out by late afternoon with just an occasional drizzle remaining. No damage that I am aware of other than I again have to pick up sticks and burn them out of the yard before I can mow again.

We had an F2 tornado last night. According to the weatherman, we don't see those down here. . . He said he had only seen them in North Texas and Oklahoma.
