There are alternatives to topo maps, and Google Earth Pro works for me...just have to use the "satellite view" is all. Of course if you don't have wi-fi or cellular it's useless, but there are other sources that you can use "offline," and don't need cellular/wi-fi.

I keep forgetting this forum is even here for some reason. But I agree it is good to know about these maps. I don't always trust this new tech about GPS. I've been directed to drive into pastures from those a coule times or taken into middle of ghettos where we were lost and that ids not a good place to be lost asking directions. Espeiically if your two old blue eyed devils with southern accent.

I have not yet mastered the tech stuff so maps are great backups for us.

Even with mastering online maps, I think it is just as important to have paper maps too, @Meerkat . It might be more important. Anyone can guess why we might need to know where to go without goo goo maps knowing it too.

Thanks Patch, my vision is the same but hope my mental vision has improved at least. Good to see you too, pun intended. I made the mistake of telling a dr that maybe if she watched youtube she could be more informed, she took off and said " I'm done with you" no patience for patiant being involved whatssoever.. So now looking for dr that isn't her alumni. I'd already been attacked by one of the old fool professors who they recorded me cussing out. He was trying to be cool instead of effective in his teaching his students some manners. No wonder the med students today are radicals!
Hubby said to keep my mouth shut well since the last radical drug combo I think I keep eyes closed too..Lots of great dr.s come out of these places but I get the nuts who are obsessed with colons and breast. Word gets around these places fast too. Went to another county ,sure enough, one of their cohorts. Now my patience is almost as low as theirs is.

I did it again,sorry 'again'. Can I blame it on age?

We have several maps in our auto. And head lamp. Wonder where truckers get those large magnifying glasses to read the maps?
