I could have sworn i read some place that a chain of volcanoes sharing one magma chamber can trigger a multiple eruption as the first volcanoes eruption alleviates the pressure holding everything in place and the drop in pressure causes the gases suspended in the magma to explode and burst out of neighbouring volcanoes. whats your dear lady says she is brighter than both of us?

They suspect it possible but no historical proof to make scientific fact. The other side of the coin is relieving pressure in the chamber lesson the chance of the other connected volcanoes going off so goes the argument.

To me prepping is more about living independently and self sufficiently as possible.

Such a great statement right here.

Self-sufficiency, is really more of my goal. I like society. I like having AC. I like being able to go to the store and get things. I certainly don't want to see it end.

It's those little catastrophes that first prompted me to "prep". I found our previous idea of it inadequate to live life as if uninterrupted, and that sucked.

On youtube their are an documentary called Storm of the Century; The Blizzard of '49, it's about the blizzard in and around Wyoming in 1949, instead of people calling us nuts or dangerous perhaps them people need to go back to school and actually learn history. The Wyoming blizzard of 1949 was a subject we were tested on in grade school, they don't teach subjects like this in school anymore that is sad and explains a lot of whats wrong.

This is my idea of SHTF, not martial law or FEMA camps nor nuclear war not even a nibiru cataclysm! The information below is real life suffering of the prepared and unprepared, covers bugging-in to traveling from the people that were their.

Really good information on the video of '49. I have been watching some but will have to finish later when I get another break. Canning up my turkey broth from boiling the carcass from yesterday and then doing mustard greens. This is one reason people should prepare for. You just never know when you will have unexpected weather. Just like Harvey. . . no one could have predicted just how much rainfall we had. Mother nature has a mind of her own and you better have a plan in place to combat what she throws in your face.

Lets think about this briefly, lets say hypothetically that in the US there are 150 million people who can drive, lets say 50 million could do simple repairs and maintenance to keep their vehicles operational and safe, Of that 50 million say 5 million go onto online Petrolhead forums and of the 5 million 50,000 contribute frequently on Motoring forums. Very rough but you get the idea.

So change DRIVER to PREPPER then you get the idea of how many of us ACTUALLY prep to one degree or another and NEVER go online to talk about it. We aint the tiny minority that many people think, especially as more than a few will be so concerned about OPSEC and PERSEC they never talk to anyone outside their families about it. Especially as so many folks know prepping is not a trending fashionable fad but simple common sense that has been around LONG before 24 hr shops.

I watched it. It was really good. I have never heard of it. They said that the native Americans ate some of the frozen livestock despite the possibility of it being toxic. Does anyone know why a perfectly frozen cow would be toxic?

slow cooling of the blood can taint the meat, when an animal is killed the blood needs to be drained fairly quickly otherwise it can produce toxins ;)
