Just teasin, Chief. Certainly don't disagree - LOTS of self-deluded people out there.. But, as the timeless old trope goes.. Ya can only 'Lead that Horse TO the Water...' and that's about it. Now is the time to 'discover holes in plans / approaches / methods / stores', etc, and Practice - and as our Wise-pal Aer says... 'LIVE like it Already Happened'.. Yup.

Not only are they (despite what they imagine or want to believe) HARD-CORE "Normalcy Bias" (yes, they are in denial).

Yes- more than 90% of the general population has normalcy bias - that proportion has gradually grown over time as people get more removed/remote from the basic essentials of life.

But as the "woke" movement has gained prominence, that is also making people develop quite impractical views on all sorts of significant issues.

No woke person is ever going to be able to make the difficult decisions that preparedness requires and a subsequent severe crisis will require.

.....and while woke is more associated with one side of politics than the other....woke seems to subtly infect or at least rub off on almost all people over time.

They are suckers for the most horrific cons and scams their government seduces them into swallowing hook-line & sinker.

Yeah sure.....but what about the horrific cons and scams that someones else's government seduces them into swallowing?

Their excuse is "Well, what can I Do about It"...?? (Classic powerless Victims).

No....actually I assess that most don't even consider they need an excuse. Most think that if they jump onto the band wagon and virtue signal.......that will make them a good person.

Most preppers lack objectivity......some are a bit crazy.....some more than a bit.......many just want the endorphin hit that ranting about the latest outrage gives them.....some just like to fantasize about crises......some like to go shopping for that thing none of their neighbors will have.......some can't wait to say I told you so....so they frequently and completely blow their OPSEC.

But a small number actually do get it....and develop real preparedness.

YES, I agree. But think of it as "TOUGH LOVE". I LOVE preppers, I LOVE the whole concept of prepping. Maybe I can see things that others or very few others can see.

Look, the super easy thing for me would be for me to take the position of, "It is not my problem". But I see it as my problem.

It is everyone's problem.

Sourdough is correct, and much of our survival community needs a good wake up call followed by a stiff cup of coffee.

History has shown from the beginning of time to present day how quickly failed states can fold. Read what Selco wrote about, the learning curve is steep and the consequences of failure are final. Everything can collapse really fast. What you have is all you'll have, if you can keep it.
