I wish we were out at our farm, but we do not have a livable house there (just a little old house falling in on itself). The people there, at least in the immediate area, are fantastic and we help each other out all the time.

But at the place we are now? Nope. Not gonna bother.
This would be a great time to have an RV that could be moved out there. I have looked at them for years, but have never gotten myself one.

Only close friends here are ex military and or fellow preppers. If something happens in our neighbourhood a group of lots of ex military people mostly with PTSD can do some damage along with a local police officer.

We are friendly with all neighbours but not in each others pockets and do trade some things amongst each other.

Grey man is the way to go at the moment and maintain OPSEC.

We belong to this forum but since we sold camper trailer never go there anymore.
They are having a hard time now too.

I watch some YouTubers who are full time Nomads because they want to be. I like the idea of having an RV or even a dressed out van for travel now and then, but I would not want to be a full-timer now. There is little room for food storage and preps. This virus could take a couple years to cycle out. No fun in an RV.

What mad me think of this thread was talking about a series we watched a few years ago. Some here may have seen it.

"Nuts!"

That was a good show.

Unfortunately, most of my neighbors are Z1's. That is a scale used in a few local hospitals (informally, for sure!) to describe the "weanie-ness" of a patient, without offending the patient if they hear it. It refers to which wave of the zombie attack you are likely to succumb to. The goal of us Z10's is to surround ourselves with enough Z1's for the zombies to munch on, so we can escape to live another day. My neighborhood has too many Z1's to be an effective fighting force - they moved in from California. So me and the wife are on our own. My friends - all Z10's except for one Z3 that slipped in there - all live 5-10 miles away from me.

Not to mention that you’d be viewed as non-local and using resources that belong to locals.

I wouldn't trust anybody who is adjacent to me. Truth be known two of them are the worst neighbors in the history of neighbors. How could I be so lucky? I always get the broken one.

Maybe two or three friends in the neighborhood that are close, but they all have families, and we are not on each other's priority list. We will pretty much go it alone.
