Damn peach moonshine, brings out the beast in me, he says the best, I say the beast. LMAO

Ya know, I asked in another forum for ideas on mounting a gun to my jeep and they thought I was some crazy psycho killer or something. I feel more at home on this forum!

why would you want to mount a gun to a jeep? i assume you are bugging out alone and mounting a gun to your jeep would not assist you in your escape... and the arc of fire would probably be much more restricted than if you were to hand-held it. Of course if you are talking about mounting a 7.62mm MG and above kind of weaponry, I can understand, but still, wouldn't it be too bulky and impractical (ammo & accuracy wise) for bugging out?

That does sound like it would be a good gun. I think I'll keep the .22 semi-auto and my .45/.410g judge, and then I am thinking of the mossberg 500 II JIC .12g shotgun.
I so do wish I could get a judge. However, california has deemed them as a sawed off shotgun!

I love the way us preppers think but no. The gun wouldn't be hard mounted. A locking mechanism much like that in a squad car would be mounted to hold the shotgun. the gun would be removed for use.

What?! Its a damn revolver! Time to leave cali

I know but it accepts .410 shells so the gov't went sideways.... again..... bunch of bleeding heart liberal ass wipes!

I'd keep the .22 (or another rifle). As you know shotguns are only good for fairly close shots, but more kills at close range. The .22 will give you more shots at more distant game, therefore, more food. In any doomsday scenario, there will be food shortages, and with food shortages will come game shortages. You will need all the chances you can get to kill for meat!

Oh i have a jeep too, that would be good info!

a .22 ruger 10/22 is a good 22 to get, it will feed on just about any .22 ammo the remmingtons tend to be a bit more finicky. A shot gun is always good to have. I recommend both.
Personaly I have a decent weapons cache. I have a ccw permit and carry a hand gun all the time.
And you mentioned jeep, so I had to post. I have a 2007 rubicon unlimited fully tricked out, and lifted. it is our bug out vehicle. has enough room
for our bug out bags and rations, I have 5 gallon jerry cans full of gas, I try to not let my tank get below half full, incase we need to bail at a moments notice.

Happy prepping

Hi and welcome! How about some water purification tablets or bleach?
Not without packing Kook-Aid. Those water purification tables taste like $&*$$#.

Welcome Jack!
Theres a huge list on page 3 of "equipment" called "creating a bug out bag" lol i may bump it to page 1 cuz so many are asking. keep the .22 and/or get a .30-06 or a longer range rifle than a .12. For hunting in Alaska. i didnt see any warm extra set of clothes in there either. also you may wanna try mylar blankets.
Ya look for it on page 1.

Hi All..

Well alaska is good but you may be suprised how many may head that way.. So depending on your location and type of doomsday situation your preparing for it may or may not be a good idea. If you choose to go to alaska you will want the most southwest location. (dense heavy forested area, very few roads and only really accssible via plane or horse.

Hey fellow preppers!

I've noticed that there are not too many people in my area that are on the same page as me. I am not sure exactly HOW the world is going to end but I know we are close to it. How do I know?....obama (purposely not capitalized) got re-elected, china stole plans from a US F35, Russia has had a Nuclear submarine 300 miles off the coast of the US, Iran has take shots at a US drone, the Bangazi incident, the war in the middle-east...MUST I GO ON?!? It will either be a citizen revolt, nuke war, zombie apocalypse, or everyone just goes crazy...

So besides myself, I have two friends who are prepping but others just agree with me but ARE DOING NOTHING! This bugs me. So I am GLAD I foudn this forum while at work tonight. I plan on being here quite a bit. Especially that I downloaded the TapaTalk App!

Ok, so a little more about me. I am a 25 year old male from Madison, Wisconsin. I used to be a cop and not work in security. I plan on saving up and moving to the corner of Alaska with my new jeep, which I am turning into a mobile assault vehicle ;-) , and building my hold-up there. I have yet to buy my bug-out bag but here is my list so far...any suggestions would be appreciated for this new prepper.

Anyone know how to mount a rifle or gun to the inside of a jeep?

Should make sure you have a flint as well as a medicine bottle with somthing flamable (wet weather makes kindling hard to light) such as rag tathers soaked in sternal or rubbing alchohal as well as some small dry kindling (somthing light like popcicle sticks .. also make sure yu bring extra battery (9 volt and a steel wool pad.. also good for lightling fires in windy weather.. also mak sure your in the south most part of alaska less chaace of not only discovery but less chance of a military strike in that area and harder to pentrate area for enemy forces

Another cheap and effective alternative to having to have to go out and buy things like Sterno or rubbing alcohol which may not be able to be purchased in a bad situations would be using pine pitch on rags, as well as using pine pitch bark from trees... Another Good alternative as well as dry moss
