i was not only living in a rent house before moving to where i live now.i was living with and doing for my mom untill she passed away.i started prepping a few years ago.in which she thought it foolish when it comes to stocking up on certain things.like flashlights.lanterns. rechargeable batteries. and battery chargers.then we had a power outage that lasted well after sunset.needless to say that she was happy that i had a lantern for her to use.i now have 6 battery operated lanterns.seeing how she bought 2 broklyn lanterns and 2 different ones... then i started stocking up on foods.mainly canned and dry foods..theni got into home canning. she finally liked that.simply because that means food to eat during a power outage. and we get to leave the fridge and freezer alone.she even bought a emergency am/fm/noaa emergency radio.

Jim, get some of the Cree LED flashlights that use Lithium ion 18650 batteries. "Cree" is the maker of the LED itself, they have a much brighter/better light. I just looked, search ebay for "3000 Lumen Zoomable CREE XM-L T6 LED Flashlight Torch Lamp Light 18650". $3, free shipping, and 3 colors to pick from. Very bright. Lots of recharges on the batteries. Very rugged. Long life, and extra Lithium batteries are $1.
