My passion for the subject of prepping and survival has for more than 70 years (71.7 years to be exact) has been very high. Maybe too high. Clearly my passion for the subject of prepping keeps getting me in trouble on internet forums.

'...I am going to try to not post much in this prepping section, going forward...'
I would hate for you to stop, but if you would perhaps just try to celebrate each persons level of prep and as hard as it is not try to get them to "smarten up" I too have things that irritate me, and I really have to bite my tongue some days.My passion for the subject of prepping and survival has for more than 70 years (71.7 years to be exact) has been very high. My frustration is that I apparently & foolishly assumed this was about 'Prepping". Seems some utilize this section to attack the very "concept" of prepping. I view prepping as moving forward, actually getting better prepared. However, there are those few who aspire to encourage members to not Prepare or Prepare LESS or find "FAULT" in nearly all suggestions.I would hate for you to stop, but if you would perhaps just try to celebrate each persons level of prep and as hard as it is not try to get them to "smarten up" I too have things that irritate me, and I really have to bite my tongue some days.
That is not what I meant any journey takes step, some are different and in different lane, you can't teach advanced algebra to a grade 1 class. My frustration is that I apparently & foolishly assumed this was about 'Prepping". In the end, while I care deeply about "prepping" and "survival" I don't need the grief that a few bring to this forum section. Just my personal opinion, I feel it is "evil" sadistic and cruel to discourage members to prepare.
I have "NO" quarrel with you. I appreciate and enjoy "all" your contributions. That is not what I meant any journey takes step, some are different and in different lane, you can't teach advanced algebra to a grade 1 class.
My passion on the subject of money management tends to bore people & I've never understood why. I guess we all have our favorite subjects. My passion for the subject of prepping and survival has for more than 70 years (71.7 years to be exact) has been very high. Maybe too high. That hits the nail squarely on the head, we all have our passion, I can think of a perfect example for me, My pedal powered bucking chain saw. , I thought that any wood heating prepper or homesteader would be all excited and want one, got lots of likes but no real how do I build one questions. My passion on the subject of money management tends to bore people & I've never understood why. THANK YOU, yesterday I put @Supervisor42 and @Haertig on "IGNORE".@Sourdough maybe use the IGNORE feature in your account settings so you wont see their BS in the future.
I think that most people don't "build" anymore, they buy. I know that I'm not handy with things I try to do. It's a win, win if I build something that doesn't fall down & works. It's just a win if when I'm through I'm not bleeding. But here's the good news, my wife used to get faint at the sight of blood. After all these years with me it doesn't bother her any more. If I had $100 for every time she has asked me "how did you do that" & point to a blood stream somewhere on me I'd go out & buy a new car! BTW I never know how the heck I did whatever it was. That hits the nail squarely on the head, we all have our passion, I can think of a perfect example for me, My pedal powered bucking chain saw. , I thought that any wood heating prepper or homesteader would be all excited and want one, got lots of likes but no real how do I build one questions.
Nah! @Pearl would figure out how to get around the block and pester yaI wonder if I put everyone on ignore if the forum will look like only the forum monitors and I survived the apocalypse and they are just holding out until they have a good reason to ban me?
I do think blocking those who prod us could make for a more enjoyable experience. I would like to encourage you to please stick around and post. I don't always "get" what you are alluding to, but I guess I figure it's not in my wheelhouse at the moment and move on rather than stirrin' the pot so to speak.THANK YOU, yesterday I put @Supervisor42 and @Haertig on "IGNORE".
I totally agree with this comment.Nah! @Pearl would figure out how to get around the block and pester ya
I have enjoyed your knowledge. My passion for the subject of prepping and survival has for more than 70 years (71.7 years to be exact) has been very high. Maybe too high. Clearly my passion for the subject of prepping keeps getting me in trouble on internet forums.
The ignore option let's you filter your feed. It is a button that is there to push if you choose.THANK YOU, yesterday I put @Supervisor42 and @Haertig on "IGNORE".
I have never put anyone on ignore......but I do actively ignore posters who I have seen repeatedly troll survivalists for their own sick amusement (or is it to soothe their insecurities?).I dislike the ignore function. I think its a way to shelter ourselves from opposition. A forum section dedicated to a particular subject is already enough of an echochamber- and if you care about the validity of an idea it should be open to all challenges. Furthurmore- if you care about any of the other posters or lurkers it's worth keeping an eye out for those who might lead them astray- especially concerning topics that revolve around survival. The ignore function prevents you from properly challenging false/fallacious ideas which more frequently tend to come from those people one might ignore.
I understand why someone would want to use the ignore button, I just disagree with it.

I also assess that some posters are just trying to get the triggers they need to repeat their normalcy biased rants.
I try not to provide those triggers.
I have considered deleting my account here, a lot of unproductive posting going on makes reading new posts cause one to waste time filtering through the BS, not to mention people attacking others for their opinions. I just don't post any more (this will most likely be my last post since I will probably receive some reply about being wrong about something) and the times I stop by to read are dwindling so I guess my days here are numbered. At my place we will keep freeze drying our meat from our animals and our garden harvests, i don't think our freeze dryer has stopped for more than a 12 hour period over the last 9-12 months (excluding vacations). My passion for the subject of prepping and survival has for more than 70 years (71.7 years to be exact) has been very high.
