Theres no bloody chance of me paying any government a fee of any kind. They want us to pay a fee to register our seed.

Ugh, that is what hubby thought also...it won't be long before they try it here...

Yup, Mike, I am NOT paying someone so I can save (register) my own seeds...if I wanted to pay for seeds I'd buy seed packets for everything...why go thru the effort of saving them (except for the heirloom quality) if we have to pay to register them

I love how people fawn and gloat about how amazing Europe is. It makes me disgusted by American ex-pats that say "you have no idea the amount of freedoms I enjoy in Europe, if only Americans will give up some of their antiquated ideas of freedoms, they can enjoy so much more." It is an illusion of freedom. True freedom may not be easy, and requires great amount of responsibility but it is true freedom. It might be comfy, warm, and you get three square meals a day inside a prison cell, but it ain't freedom. That is how I view the EU and their seed registration. Won't be long before they want men to nut into a container to make sure their "seed" is genetically pure and free from defects. Sorry about my vulgarities.
