This is the way it should work!!

"blasted Police Chief Louis Ross three times in the chest and once in the arm as Ross and his team swept through Horton's home early last Thursday"

" is not facing any charges because an investigation by state police revealed he wasn't behind the threat and he did not know he was shooting at cops"

"not clear whether OSBI is investigating the possibility Horton was a victim of "SWAT-ting," a hoax in which an anonymous prankster falsely reports a crime -- often times a violent one -- at an unsuspecting person's home, prompting a police team to respond to the location believing a dangerous situation is at hand"

Iv said for years and even told cops before that there is no reason at all for a hard knock entry . Except in a hostage situation gone bad . Anything eles they can call out the suspect and waite them out . The LEO's are on the payroll they can waite as long as needed Waco and Ruby Ridge should have taught them that . Anyone storming into someones house armed to the teeth gets what they get .

I'm just glad no one was killed, the Chief gone home to his family (thank God for the BPV!) and the resident was unharmed. The tactics need to change for most of these 'hard knock' situations, it does nobody any good. Given the past few weeks, months I am very happy to see a officer go home for a change (unlike the recent past) and that justice worked in favor of the citizen without dragging on and on like similar cases as this in the past.

What a horrible "prank"!
Hope they track down the caller and string him up.
Glad to see it all worked out in this case, but the far more likely scenario is one where the homeowner is dead in his PJs, shot by cops he didn't even know were cops.

problem is with those pre-paid phones...but pranksters like that should get a serious..hard..long beating and jail time
