I don't think the Government should be in the business of picking winners and losers.
Take away special privileges, yes.
Make sure there is a level playing field, yes.
Bust up a company for being successful, no.

If a company corners the market on Lawn Darts or above ground swimming pools then I agree with you. BUT by the hands off approach, Standard Oil would have owned every filling station in America, Without busting up companies that threaten critical facets of a free republic, the people are enslaved. Running all the mom and pop grocery stores out of business (or even the smaller chains) is putting a strangle hold on our food supply. Same with communications (internet, Bell Tel, etc) and energy companies

I love amazon. Great selection, shipped quickly to your door for free. What’s not to like? I do agree though with some regulation on things at this scale. When he puts all the competition out of business what’s to say he won’t raise pricing knowing you have no other choice. On line shopping was inevitable in today’s world. Bezos was just the first to implement it on large scale. Very smart move.
there is competition though. Walmart has a really good on line presence now and many other large retailers are trying. Unfortunately the mom and pop places are going to be a thing of the past one day.

I shop local stores if I can get what I need. It costs a bit more but it is worth it. Oh, and I always try to buy American.
