The Navajo do not practice speaking of the dead. While I'm not Navajo I think it is important to respect their beliefs.
There are now two Code Talkers left.

A girlfriend of my wife’s had a code talker, for a house parent, when she was in Chemawa Indian School in OR. He had a cameo at the beginning of “Windtalkers”. He portrayed the father of the main Windtalker character.

When my dads younger brother recovered from wounds on one of the Pacific islands he was assigned as a ship board radio man working shoulder to shoulder with a code talker relaying messages from the islands.. That is the only thing he ever said about being in the Marines..
