Bullet Proof Coffee.... ?? ....
I've made a lot of coffee a number of different ways, from kitchen to camp fire.. Some admittedly better than others.. Some only good for chrome or paint stripper.. If ..Bullet Proof.. has to do with using butter as a dairy product in coffee goes, I have tried that and didn't find a way to use it that was good tasting to me.. Margarine was a complete waste of both it and coffee..

My big brother was awful fussy about using the little cream cups like you get in the cafe, or light 1/2 and 1/2.. I would always tell him he was too dam..d fussy for someone that couldn't make coffee for himself.. Then I'd have to listen to him growl about everything.. :lil loser:

Did a "Doctor "decide that, same kind that said use margarine not butter, or take the Vax ????
No 🙄🙄🙄, I learned this during some extensive cancer homework I've done!! Cafestol is a diterpene ( a type of terpene, bio synthetic building blocks produced in the breakdown of some plants: conifers, pot, coffee beans). Coffee beans produce cafestol, good anti cancer agent, protects against Parkinson's, and is beneficial to your eyes! Bad side, increases bad cholesterol!! As most know who have read any of my past posts, I am VERY ANTI DOCTOR, ANTI VAX, and I don't eat plastic!!

I don't eat plastic!!
Plastic is everywhere! Almost all food is packaged in plastic. Heating food in plastic releases toxins into food. Think of all the cases of bottled water that people use! I quit the plastic water bottles except for rare occasions. When I was teaching, there were several teachers who walked around with plastic cups/glasses as their drinking containers. I don't know why, but that just really grosses me out! Glass, ceramic and metal for hot beverages, always, but usually ceramic at home and metal (Yeti) when on the go.

Isn't margarine plastic and paint?? Or something gross like that?!! Also want to add to your great post!! A gal I know researched drinking from styrofoam cups. Styrofoam particles could be found in the cells of breast cancer patients who frequently drank from styrofoam cups! I'll see if she'll send me her research info, it was really interesting!!

I knew you are anti DR, I just wanted a spirited answer.

No wonder I see better after I drink coffee. Maybe it doesn't actually work that fast, but it is important to know. How some people think coffee is bad for your health is beyond me. I've been waiting to see some actual accurate information about that.

I'm on my first cup..I usually only have one a day, n when I say cup it's not a 1 cup cup but my coffee cup cup size..
I like to savor my cuppa joe..
Add cream..
A half ish spoonful of my custom mud blend
..a plop of either hot chocolate mix or Ovaltine
Cuz I like my chocolate too
My mud mix is a blend of spices, mushrooms n herbs. Whatever of the mud that settles I down it with a swish of water ..like taking a shot glass..
It's good stuff..

I don't know who coined the name, it is very common among keto/ carno people, it helps get your day started, is almost impossible to keep from letting the coconut oil come to the top,

Coffee is good for many things! I guess like anything else, it's all about moderation.

I can’t imagine drinking cold coffee in a nice Alaska winter 😜

I’m just gonna add in here when consumed with the standard American diet.

I drink two cups in the morning made by the Mr Coffee that is set to brew at 4 AM. I don’t want to wait for it to perk. I do have 4 percolator pots of various sizes. One was my great grandmother’s. It’s the biggest 😍. One lives in the trailer and gets used the most. Backups for the backups on that one I tell ya. It’s important!
Very true!! If you are not eating crap for food, you won't have high cholesterol!! The cowboys out on the range had perked coffee, but did they have high cholesterol?? Who knows?? So where am I going with this??

Well I'm 77 and still going strong so I guess the plastic hasn't caught up to me yet. We are all going to die someday anyway so I stopped worrying about that a long time ago. It is what it is. I try to practice the Taijitu, yang and yin, and Objectivism and it must being working because this Ferengi keeps on going.

Margarine is a few molecules from being plastic. Everything will kill us sooner or later. It's interesting that as bad as our life style is suppose to be we are still living longer and healthier than our grandparents and great grandparents. Heck in some cases even longer than our parents. All this crap can't be that bad for us.

If you wait long enough everything that is bad for you today will be good for you tomorrow. I've lived long enough to see that.

Awesome timing for this thread. :)
My automatic drip coffee maker quit working a couple days ago. This thread reminded me that I bought an old Sunbeam Deluxe percolator on eBay. The amazing thing is it was right where I thought it was in my basement. It’s still like new. I’m craving a good tall cup of percolated coffee. Hope it still works. Brings back memories of when I was growing up and the smell of coffee filled the house.

Holy Smokes!! That old Sunbeam works but is kinda dangerous!
I tried it with just water first. It took off percolating immediately and would not stop until I unplugged it. Needed gloves to handle it, the electric cord was warm.

Still I brewed 6 cups, 2 cups for me. Let it brew until steam was coming from the spout and boiling coffee was reaching the bulb on top of lid. It’s good coffee, but that 50 year old coffee maker is essentially just a piece of nostalgia to be displayed on a kitchen shelf.

memories of when the smell of coffee filled the house.

To me that was a big granite coffee pot on the wood stove at grandpa Gilbert and grandma Hettie's house.. By late in the day it would be strong enough to float a spoon, but I think my dad and grandpa enjoyed it more that way..
I have an OLD double-boiler type coffee maker. Water is heated to a boil and poured over the coffee grounds. It’s all one unit… I actually forget how it’s all combined, but I can tell you all that coffee is acidic and aluminum baskets need to be cleaned often enough or they will rot.
I don’t know where that is, exactly, but it’s an old family item that I sure wish was still in good useable condition.

During the percolation process a compound called cafestol is made, it raises bad cholesterol! Even though it has a heartier, better taste, it's not good for you!!
I heard it's the oil from the beans, that allows the body to produce bad cholesterol or have a worse effect. Paraphrasing.

Paper filters filter most of that out. But, I have gotten that oil from a drip coffee maker when I use unfiltered city water. I don't get that when I filter the water first. Go figure.

It's a somewhat common practice to not use filters with a percolator. I've started using filters.

Anyway, I bought a Coletti stove top percolator. In this video there is mention of using filters, ~7:40 minutes.

I use regular drip basket coffee filters. Place thumb over the perk tube, tear down on both sides, rotate thumb 90 degrees and tear down the opposite sides... nice round hole. Then wet under faucet and fold edges over the top, they stay in place then. When perking the coffee doesn't over-flow the basket. No grounds in coffee.

Edit: I only brew 6 cups at a time with a 1/3 cup coffee (in the 9 cup model). So results may vary using more coffee.

We are living longer due to antibiotics and C-sections. Also longer does not mean healthier.

And you don’t look 77 in your avatar 😁
