I know what you mean. It seems like you’re lucky to get one year out of a phone charger cord.
I've had pretty good luck with Anker cords.
Will be looking for both of these.

Sometimes you can get Anker cords at Walmart, but sometimes not. TBH a person could probably go ask one of the Best Buy nerds what cord is best. Those kids are on their electronics 24/7 so they all probably use the best they can buy...

I've never been able to find one that lasts more than 6 months or so.

I have never had a charger cord go bad. Most of the ones I've bought are the braided kind. I've gotten them all from Amazon. Some of these (the no-name ones specifically) have been going strong for, geez, 7 or 8 years now? I use the cords a lot. I've got octopus charging rigs in offices and bedrooms and battery packs with these cords coiled up and stuffed in the bags with them. I've got to have over a dozen of the things. I guess I've just been lucky in my cord purchases.

Looking at my Amazon purchase history, below are the brands of USB charging and data cables I have bought in the past. The first three brands are ones we've heard of, the last four are no doubt CCC ("Cheap Chinese Crap"). They've all worked fine.

Motorola
Cable Matters
Anker
Cabepow
OKRAY
JXMOX
JSAUX

Years ago I worked with a guy who had a bad habit of yanking on cables. Caused all sorts of problems with very expensive equipment. It got to be a running joke at work! No matter the problem he had, could've been complaining about his bank or the mailman. Invariably someone would ask 'Did you yank the cable'! 🤣

cables are cheap compared to pulling the phone charging port apart....

I buy new ones because it seems like every road trip I take the teenager has taken the charge cord out of the car.

My wife uses a Iphone and we have a wireless charger next to the desk top so it parks there a lot.

Interesting thought...
Do those ...wireless chargers... work well ?? How do they work ?? As in do you need an app or adaptor on you phone to use them ?? Are they reliable ?? If you are away from the wireless can you still use a cord to charge, like in the car ??

More info, experience please..
