I've seen videos of people who made a "car" out of cardboard boxes and "drove" up to the drivethru to get their order. They got some pretty big laughs from staff.

Here people who are on foot will try to cut in line in front of people in vehicles. That is one of the reasons they say they don't want people on foot. But people can park in the parking lot, use the apps and order food and have it delivered outside.

70 blocks is about what i figured,

stacked the blocks and put a tin top on it

That is a classic Anvil cloud if I ever saw one. Highly likely a tornado in that one

Does it look like this? Hard for me to tell from the pic so I'm guessing but it reminds me of Carolina Buckthorn aka Frangula caroliniana.

Poison? depends on your point of view... it's a laxative. It was used in US hospitals before someone came up with ex-lax.

There are 8 or 10 species of buckthorn coast to coast. I really don't remember the exact number. I've seen 3 of them. The leaves of each species are a little different. Carolina buckthorn is the species used as a laxative.

GEORGE ARMSTRONG CUSTER at West Point where he graduated at the Bottom Of his class 1861. I wonder if he was assigned to deal with Native Americans as sort of a thing that they knew he wouldn't survive?

Custer was being groomed for political office because he was dumb enough to be controlled. A power grab by the state of Michigan, senate for sure but hopes of the presidency.

But he was so dumb he attacked 4 thousand warriors with 600 guys. If that wasn't dumb enough he then committed an unpardonable sin. He split his command in front of a superior force. (its unknown how many native women fought but there were lots)

I belong to a few history groups on Facebook. One is South Dakota history, and there is much information shared there that is about Native Americans. It was never in any history classes, of course. There are posts about Native women who fought in that battle.

I wonder what the requirements were to get into Westpoint way back then and how he got in? Did he fill the last spot because there were no other candidates at the time?

You have to wonder about Custer. Was he just not smart in general? (Probably not) And how in the world did he end up at Westpoint?

It was a good ole boy network in those days. All you needed a letter from your Governor. If he didn't have the connections maybe one of your senators could write a letter. There were no real academic requirements by today's standards.

People forget that during the civil war many officers on both sides went to school together, were classmates, students and professors. I think it was Stonewall Jackson who taught artillery at West Point but fought for Virginia.

I am so sure it was a good ole boy thing. There were two young people from my small hometown who went to Westpoint in the 1970's. They were close in age and I imagine they were there at the same time. Both came from large hard working families and both mothers had been teachers.

The biggest mistake he made was attacking the Indians. The next two mistakes he made was he relied on a man that was not up to the job of coming to his aid, and leaving his Gatling gun out of the fight.
I am not a Custer fan but he could have saved a lot of lives by treating the Indians with a little more respect.

Having grown up around Native Americans and having them at our dining room table during the harvest, I can tell you that Custer was not alone in how Indians were mistreated. I witnessed it myself, but not from my family.
