The handle for that furniture was broken so I remember there was that handle that was in
my mother stuff ...so I did screw that new thing that could be a handle ...

It appears to be something related to law enforcement.
Where it attaches, it looks like Sheriff or Marshal badges.
The star in the middle also implies this possibility.
