Our town square.

One of Santa's team had a rough night recovering from the nights work and mistook our town Santa for the real deal.

Post A Photo, A Real Photo

Quit beating me up already. I've already apologized and said I meant no disrespect. I just asked why, considering the unprecedented cold/snow that's just occurred, why pics from years ago as opposed to scenes and such from what's going on now.

This years pickin' season officially kicked off last week in Nashville. But for me it starts in 3 weeks. I can't wait to change strings on my guitar, these died sometime before christmas. I just haven't buried them yet. 23 days and counting til the music rings! 😊

Are you in the line up?!?

Are you in the line up?!?
No, this isn't a festival with bands all day into the evening. This is a one day competition event with $10K in prize money. The stage will be for the competitors by instrument, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, guitar. That usually takes most of the day. They'll have a couple bands at the end of the day, after winners are chosen.

I go to these events for the back room pickin'/jam sessions. Everyone is welcome to join in... It's held at a jr. college so some of the classrooms and hallway or two will be open for jamming all day. There'll be groups of pickers scattered throughout that part of the building, people continually changing groups. Get to pick with old friends and meet new ones...

First pic is the stage area at the end of the day, don't remember the band's name. Another in a hallway, a group I was picking with. At the end of the hall there's another group of pickers around the corner.

I think the Earl Scruggs has those open jam sessions, too. I hope to attend the next one this year and be a fly on the wall !!
Have fun (we know you will) !!🎸🎶🎵🎻

@Pearl This lamp leg pic was taken near Newcastle Tx. Community of Chickasaw I think. It's west of fortworth, don't know how far.
I know Newcastle fairly well, very small town two counties to my west! That leg is in Chickasha OK, southwest of Oklahoma City!! It's quite a famous attraction for Chickasha! Where did you come up with Newcastle @Peanut ? There's nothing there, I think the population is like 800?!! Just curious!

I'm doing an elderberry dehydrator experiment.
The berries are too small to fit in my dehydrator, they'll fall through the cracks in the trays. So I used butcher paper to make mats that fit in the bottom of the trays... I only made 2 mats because I wasn't sure if there would be enough airflow through the dehydrator for this to work. Dropped berries in last night and this morning when I checked I was pleasantly surprised! The berries seem to be drying nicely.

Because who ever posted the leg mentioned newcastle and chickasaw in the same statement. The statement was unclear about the details.
