The power has been out for two and a half hours right now. I have been here for a week and a half and in that time we have had two outages, the other one was about half an hour. My question is this, why is my wifi working?

Should this go in the paranormal thread?🤔

Explain your setup. Does your router have power or did you connect to someone else who does or on cellular?
The wife had this system set up while I was at Mom’s so I don’t know much about it. The only wire coming out goes to a charger plugged into the wall. The brand is NETGEAR, there are no other markings on the outside. As I expected the wife knows nothing about the device.

I was thinking certain systems were run from nuclear and some run off of gas or other substances. That would be like one breaker going out but not the other (sorta).

Who do you get your internet/phone... through? Cable company or ?
Our cable companies "box" in our house has a battery backup. That allows wifi and phone (in case of emergency, E.g. 911 calls) to work in the event of an outage.
The cable company shut down years ago. We just recently got internet and I was gone when that happened so that happened. I’ve only been home a couple of times, each for a couple weeks, so I don’t know the system particulars.

Well don't leave us hanging, how many hours before your power came back on?

Oh goodie, she's like me. I know nothing, but I do know that we have NETGEAR gear as well, but it is through Spectrum, which goes down frequently enough, but I don't care. i'm not switching companies because it is a PITA to switch. It is not cheaper either to leave Spectrum. The sales people bug me every time I go into wally world (cross yourselves!). I finally stopped and talked to one, they are mostly rude. We found out that it wouldn't be a good fit for me, really? Imagine that. Why the hh hockey stix do you think I avoid/ignore you sales people when I see you?
