I am looking for some advice on prepping with little kids. I have a two year old daughter (like things won’t be bad enough hehe). When it comes to prepping I am still new and being a father makes it a little harder for me to know where to start.

Like I said she is two right now almost three. So she isn’t totally helpless she can eat, potty and she can almost dress herself. But I’m not an idiot I know she can’t be carrying her own supplies like my wife so that means a bigger bag.

So what would be the best things to focus on.
Clothes, some small items like a compass or map, as I have found with my little one's they are a lot happier if they feel they can help! I also packed some clothes, and things to occupy them so they stay quiet when you really need them too.

My is 7. Its just the two of us. He has his own bag. Its a smaller duplicate of mine less the tent I carry. If need be I can ditch my bag and we can live off his. He carries a Lego set. Just the little ones, paper, and markers. He says he'll be to busy hunting squirrels and fishing to play. I've discussed several different scenarios with him. He wants more definitive answers than I or anyone else can give concerning shtf. Little ones are smarter than people give them credit for. He knows first aid and how to start a fire. I feel more than confident that he could bandage me and keep me warm if I was injured. He can't set the tent up but he knows how to make a lean too with the 550 and tarp he carries in his bag.

sounds like that you have quiet a kid there..your right about being smarter than people give them credit for..some are smart enough where a adult can learn from them as well..especilly when i come up with good ideas
