I really don't know what to think about this,,,,,,,,,,8 year old kills 2 and his probation is about to end,I read the piece and have my reservations about this,I think down the road we hear about him again

I saw this story this morning. Disturbing to say the least. About as bad as the two teenage girls that stabbed their friend repeatedly for slender man. Why do we keep deranged people like these alive? We have been paying for psychological treatment and supervised living arrangements all these years and now they are going to just say he is free? Child or not, it’s nuts.

Its sad all the way around. . . I can only hope and pray for that young soul. So many questions there. Does an 8 year old even know the absolute consequence of his actions. . . that dead is really dead? Sadly I maybe afraid of that answer.

I don't know how to respond to this.

I can't really buy into the idea that a 7 or 8 year old is responsible for their actions...yet I've also seen that many criminals and psychopaths showed warning signs when they were very young.

Certainly gunning down two people is a warning sign.

Also, where did he get the gun? Was an adult being careless?

I think it's safe to say ANY time a kid gets hold of a loaded gun, an adult has been careless.

I hadn't heard this story. Wow, just wow.

Read the details. While I agree an 8 year old isn't really 'responsible', look at the details here. It was no 'accidental shooting'. It was a single-shot 22, the 8 year old had to load one round at a time, fire it, then reload. He killed his father, it does not say how many shots that took. But then the 8 year old called down the other man (he rented a room at the house) and shot and killed him (again not told how many shots that took).

The only possible motive is that the boy was spanked because he did not bring his school homework home. Nothing there says he was an abusive father.

I've never thought a child this young was really due corporal punishment, but this is a first. As others have said, we're going to hear about this boy again. He's going to kill again, the only questions are who and when. I do not see a reason to give him that opportunity. He should be put down like a rabid dog, and it should have happened 10 years ago. This is so sad.

Have to agree with TF on this one. Sometimes, bad is just bad, and this kid is rotten to the core.
