I can see the lawyers lining up to sue on behalf of anybody and everybody that gets injured or killed due to a lack of police department. Next a safety group will not have access to any police inter-cooperation. No powers of arrest, other than citizens arrest ( good luck with that -- the lawyers will eat them alive). As usual, city council is talking out their butts. Pandering for votes or afraid of their constituents. I am laughing my azz off. This is going to be fun to watch. I can see all the Uhaul trucks lining up and all the companies moving out. If you own property there, sell now, it will be worthless shortly.

Who says these new “cops” are going to follow the laws? They think all current ones are racist! I can see them arresting and beating Conservatives and Christians. I’m glad. Mainly because I don’t live there and they aren’t trying out this social experiment here. I do think it is a good idea to test this out somewhere. If it works, great, then we could try it in other places. More likely though it will be a miserable failure and then we stay with a way to protect people everywhere else. I do think our police need some policing and reforms, but dismantling them is insane.

Seriously, with all that’s going on in our country right now I am really glad I’m into prepping and self sufficiency. It seems like everyone is hell bent on destroying the economy and society in general. The prepping philosophy was the reason I intentionally moved to a remote area, (not as remote as I would like lately), learned self sufficiency and gardening, got prepared to defend myself, and have provisions and supplies to weather the coming chaos. I just wish I had the resources to buy a large island right about now.

The main thing I am glad about with this is that it’s not happening here where I live. I think when this fails there hopefully the far left liberals will see it was a stupid idea. If it somehow does succeed then great, they could do it elsewhere. I’m not optimistic of any success from it though. As I said though I do agree there should be police reform as many do get abusive. I also think that trying some new and different ideas in limited areas to see what could work makes sense. I just don’t think dismantling the police 100% anywhere is a good idea though.

I’m all for trying new ideas, but this one isn’t anything I would have wanted. You can like a concept yet not like all the details in it. This idea is insane, but reform isn’t. I think requiring the police to help each other when one gets out of line makes a lot more sense. Them having immunity from being held accountable is wrong too. Looks like that one is already coming to an end though.

I don’t see that happening. I do see this failing miserably. Did you see that ZERO WHITE MEN are represented and even the white women were demeaned by non capital letters? Also that Zero Asian men and Native American men were given a voice? Does that not strike you as racist and very unDemocratic?

Logistics and legalities. The city council is talking out their butts. A civil safety group will not be eligible for any federal police funds. The city will have to pick up the whole tab. Police departments and law enforcement agency's will not allow any inter-cooperation. Partly due to legal / civil liabilities and partly to guard their turf. Without the protection of being a legally constituted law enforcement organization, this group will have no more legal authority than any vigilantly organization. The city could not obtain or afford the liability insurance needed. Lost revenue--- no parking tickets, traffic tickets, fines as there will not be any legal basis for issuing or enforcing previous city ordinances. The Safety Group will not be recognized by any legal statutes currently in the city charter. What will the Police department be doing while all this is transpiring? How much armaments will disappear? How many vehicles will suddenly break down? How many on the job injuries will be claimed? The city council has not given any thought to the details, as usual they are just running off at the mouth. I personally hope they continue down this path. It will make great election advertisement. SIASD
