I would love, love to be able to ....go bush.... and find some ramps and oyster shell mushrooms.. Long video, but will look into it to see about cultivating them in a more accessible environment..

I am always afraid to pick wild things like that in case I pick the wrong thing and poison us...took me a few years to trust eating wineberries here LOL
( and I don't eat any sort of fungus, despite a lot growing here)

What is a ramp ?? A glorious, awful looking green plant that when fried up with a sliced sweet onion smothered over a grilled steak gives you a wonderful onion garlic taste..

Mentor.... Find yourself a good mentor to go with a time or 2 to the bush to identify wild edibles... It has been too long ago now for me in this area.. I also would need a refresher to be able to ID things.. Check your local community for classes, field trips, county extension office, master gardeners and the like for resources..

back in the fall i pulled some very young ones up i am growing to see how they looked. these are either one or two years old...they are very tiny...it takes about 7 years from seed to harvest.

well about that seed i had in refrigerator....its now in the woods....4 ounces !

thats like 6000 plus seed...i hope they all sprout and grow !

eat,drink and stink like a ramp !

what's a ramp?

A member of the garlic family which has leaves instead of tendrils akin to a leek, but with an intense flavor and scent. I'll have to break out a couple of recipes from when I was a kid.
