Someone paid government for the land.
But keep pretending 🤟🏿.
And keep denying that terrorism is committed through real estate so you can demonize me for not wanting to help pay a corrupt system for permission to share a planet NONE of us actually own 🤟🏿.
The land I'm on was homesteaded many years ago. Then later it became part of a large ranch, and that's when I bought it. When a person buys real-estate they buy it from a land owner. A person. Not the "system".
You keep referring to "terrorism" through real-estate. I don't get it.

Who does the land owner get the land from.
The government system of real estate.
But as I said keep denying the truth. . .so you don't have to take accountability for participating in systemic inequality and terrorism 🤟🏿.
And if you're unaware of how terrorism, gentrification, redlining etc are committed through real estate. . .then I would suggest doing some research 🤟🏿.

I built my place 32 years ago. I paid cash + tax for the materials and cash for the land. I worked 14 hours per day, 7 day per week for 4 years to complete the project. Even after all of that labor and money, I can NEVER own my own home. I ‘m only allowed to stay in it as long as I pay the tax. Technically, I am only a RENTER on government owned property.
Yep, I get that. Our place is paid for. But there's the yearly tax bill. Our amish neighbor was so mad about his last month...they had an extra small 3 bedroom house on their property that was a good house, but no one in it, so he just burnt it down where it stood because it would lower his tax bill to not have it there.

I applaud all of your hard work.
And you describe what the vast majority of people go through. . . just to pay a known system of corruption. . . for permission to do what all other life does for free.

. . .if there's a yearly bill. . . it's not paid for.
Not to mention if government really wanted to they could just use eminent domain to reposes the land. . . like they have to many others 🤟🏿

What other life does for free....

The deer and the antelope do play, but they don't farm

Knock yourself out Recluseau. Go find some land and farm it.
Too bad there's not the homesteaders act anymore.
What's your first crop going to be?
Are you building from scratch or pitching a tent?

There are or were public domains here and there you could live on indefinitely, mostly in Alaska and some western states but I think there are places in LA, TX, FL, and GA. The only stipulations being you had to improve the land, not be a nuisance (like grow dope or make meth) and you could not will it to your offspring.
Here you go, I hope you like desert and swamp, that's all that's left.

Back in the homesteading days much of the west was considered public domain lands. Homesteading was a way by our government to transfer vacant lands to private ownership. It was a great system. It worked. There were various other means to transfer vacant lands to private ownership too, such as parenting mineral lands, etc.
This IS the truth and is reality. Homesteading ended years ago, the west is full.
You sound like someone who just wants to get something for nothing. Not likely that will happen.

. . .we could have a new homestead act. . .if the people organized for one 🤟🏿

Lol so I want "something for nothing". . . because I'm looking to not pay into a system of inequality. . .or be extorted for permission to share a planet NONE of us actually own.
And by extension maintain the terrorism committed through the non stop wars over land and the resources grown from the land. . . lmfao sure thing 🤟🏿.

Guys, be nice. I'm not sure but he might be one of my guys, I don't need to know though. LOL
We're all into this kind of thing and free life.

Well, are you going to go for it, Reclu? Whatcha going to farm first? How have you planned the layout to your new homestead? Are you going to raise animals, too? Or just grow veg. Or are you a hunter?

My advice, use a camper for this adventure I got a decent one for 1400 and the odometer hasn't even rolled over. a bit of tweaking the electricity and adding propane tanks and its home!
Thanks for the advice. . I've been researching different setup's.
My goal is to build into a hillside so I can keep it camouflaged.

Oh I'm definitely going for it. . .lol just don't think I'll do it here in the "land of the free".
Been looking for places with a better currency exchange rate.
I've already drawn up a few plans for the earthship Im going to build.
Incorporating a few Chickens and a small fish pond.
I'm trying to focus on circular regenerative systems. . . create a food forest 🤟🏿

Another reason to get a camper, put a net over the top and let the leaves fall, you're hidden.
Or you could pull it between humps and camo net it.
. . good idea.
Hell I could even bury that sucker for a more earthship like approach 🤟🏿.

Oh, there are places it can be done, just remain mobile at all times!

I own the land I'm on, I also lease some land from the Forest Service. I don't see any inequity or wars, or terrorism around here. Not sure where your from that has all those bad things happening, but everything looks pretty good from where I'm sitting.
If you can get away with squatting on land that doesn't belong to you, go for it.

While our new friend has brought it up, does anyone care about sustainable wild gardens full of edible weeds, tire planters, and milk jug hothouses? or are we too good to reuse junk? LOLOL
I've toured the earthships in Taos many times, talked with the resident builders there. Impressed by some things, not by others. Really not impressed about where they are built, no where to grow food except the little five ft area indoors, and that won't get you much. Also lived many years in Corrales where we had the first straw bale built post office, and there were many straw bale houses, too, but those do have their pros and cons. Getting all your calories from edible weeds cannot be done, but it can feed some of your livestock. It's what we do here.

Rant, I don't know. But here goes. A couple of days ago we had an appointment with H&R Block to do my S.F. tax return. My wife does ours but his can be a little more complicated. First off he gets SS, added to that he earns considerable interest during the year & every now & then gets oil payments from mineral rites. This year he ended up paying $2,500 extra to the government. But the problem was paying taxes to the state where the mineral rites are at. How to do that had to involve another person who wasn't free so.... After 65 minutes we had to come back later in the day. So we came back but they hadn't moved any further on it so another hour & 15 minutes passed during which there as a lot of "upselling" involved, which I turned down, a LOT. They even made an appointment for next year, which I couldn't believe. Understand here that the doctors gave my S.F. between 6 months to a year more about 6 months ago. I of course couldn't say that to cut through the ******** upselling. The whole experience was a nightmare both because of the time involved & having to go there twice. Now I will say that before that I had a very favorable feeling about H&R Block. Now not so much. I guess that they have realized that turbo tax is cutting into their business & want to add other streams to make money with.

It takes around 20 acres to feed one cow here in our area. I don't know about goats or sheep. I think some people don't realize just how much land it takes to make a living on. No doubt there might be some specialty crops that can provide some income on a small plott of land. Now days it takes a lot of land and water to be completely self sufficient. Plus an outside source of income too.

There is no public domain lands that are open to homesteading now days. As far as BLM and Forest Service lands go, they have a 14 day camping limit. In some areas it allowable to live on an
un-patented mining claim, but only in remote areas and only if you're actively mining. Alaska has their version of homesteading, but it's generally in locations that really isn't good for farming. But it might be worth checking out.
