The French have managed within MINUTES to jam and Scramble ALL CELL PHONE and LAND LINES over a large area thus blocking ALL non official comms. I wonder if they have also jammed CB and HAM frequencies. This needs studying by our experts.

That's interesting. I kind of figured we could do something like that in extreme cases too, I just haven't heard of it happening before.

It tells me I need a non electronic back up coms system such as dead letter drops, RVs etc Would'nt it be a bugger if the GOVT jammed CB and Ham and Cell phone services in order to stop trouble spreading on a large scale, a bit like Ferguson MO on steroids???

Interesting tactic. Though can you imagine how that tactic would go over here (in the US)?
No reason to think they couldn't do so with CB and HAMM.

wonder if it have that jamming effect if you use those old army-phones where you have to place that phone-line your self between the phones..
okay,it's a hell to drag those lines,spool after spool and the range is limited to how many spools you can put out,the way they did it in ww1 and ww2, before
decent radios came along...

though it's a living hell to carry that spool in a dense forest, a landline like that should work despite some jamming attempts..

I agree, I don't think you could jam a direct line, unless of course you just cut it! I hear lots of ships still use morse code with lamps. Probably just to keep the skills alive. Communicating within line of site is one thing, across many miles may be a little tougher. I wonder if they could jamb a cb radio? Cutting cell service is easy, but stopping a transmission wih its own power source would be tougher.

this jamming of mobiles and landlines comes as no surprise to me, didn't they do the same after 9/11 and the Boston Bombings?? I can see them taking over the communications for "official" use only!!

so,when our phones go dead,we better have some back-up comms available

only if we have to communicate with others, wife and I are together virtually 24/7, I have battery and wind up radio's for general use.

CB and FRS walkee-talkees, likely. Ham, unlikely, simply because there are too many frequencies available. To jam all ham bands would require a MASSIVE effort.
