Excerpt: "Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said Monday that the Rev. Al Sharpton should “go back to New York” and mind his own business after the national civil rights activist’s visit to Clearwater over the weekend to address the shooting of Markeis McGlockton.

“It’s a bunch of rhetoric. I don’t pay much attention to it to tell you the truth,” the sheriff said when asked for his reaction to Sharpton’s appearance at the end of an unrelated news conference in St. Petersburg. “I wasn’t there, and I don’t really care what Al Sharpton has to say. Go back to New York. Mind your own business.”

(not so) Sharpton has no other job skill than stirring up trouble with "his people". The really sad thing about it is, "his people" are stupid enough to fall for it.

I wonder when the IRS is going to clamp down on him and all eh back taxes he owes. When Obuma was in office, he was shielded but now it is time for this big mouth to put his money where his mouth keeps pointing. Back to the government to help support Al's supporters. We know they are not smart enough to have jobs or they would not be his supporter.

The IRS needs to go after Rev. Al and a few others....if it were you or me owed MILLIONS in back taxes, you can bet yer you know what they'd be after US!!

This actually happened in my backyard. We have a pretty loose Stand Your Ground law in effect here, which basically lets you easily shoot someone if you feel threatened, and can show it.

In this case, the perp violently attacked him with no attempt at communication, etc., so yeah, he got plugged.

Maybe the next idiot will think twice before violently shoving a 40 something guy down on the asphalt....since they tend to come up with a gun.

Now, all that said, I think the shooter was an ass, and someone who was looking for a fight (yelling at a lady for parking...who the heck is he, the parking police?).... And, he could have just drawn on the guy, didn't have to fire.

But, legally, the law is FIRMLY on his side. (not that Al bothered to check)

I was not there, so all is hearsay: 1) Lady was a repeat parking offender -- parking in handicap slot, and NOT handicapped. 2) Older and much smaller man had previous encounter with this couple over the abuse of handicapped parking. 3) Bigger and younger man gets physical. And that is where it got fatal. Do not put your hands on other folks, unless you are prepared to deal with the results. The bigger guy made 2 fatal mistakes. I) physical contact. 2) Did not turn and run as soon as the smaller guy drew his weapon. All could have been prevented if the bigger guy had kept his hands to himself. --- No attack, no self defense, no stand your ground. --- Would still be breathing. Legal shooting, maybe not really needed, but still very legal. Keep your hands to yourself. Just that darn simple.

There is a video. In it, it's easy to see why the man feared for his safety, and was justified.

And while he didn't have to pull the trigger, the aggressor didn't need to assault him out of nowhere either.

The problem is when folks like Sharpton try and make an incident about race. I highly doubt the man's actions would have been any different if the aggressor's race was white, black, hispanic, etc.
