I saved seed from Cochiti popcorn this year, I just remembered. It's in Mason jars for making popcorn. Good arid adapted popcorn variety, it's multi-colored but most ears only have 1 or 2 colors on them. More info: https://www.nativeseeds.org/products/zp091 20241221_204928.jpg

I think asking is the most effective form of this thread.

Can anyone share ginseng seed?

Ben
It is too hot for me to grow in my area and like a weirdy I went ahead and bought some a couple months ago. I forget what company I got it from. Was it seed, or did I buy root? I forget that too. It should be in my refrigerator.

Starting about 7 years ago for 3 consecutive years, I planted stratified ginseng seeds purchased from Johny's Select Seeds. I planted them on a north facing slope in the old growth part of our wood lot. While some have grown and gone to seed, they are taking their time spreading.

Rhetorical question

Why do 80% of my planting project take multi year watching and waiting?

Around 4 months ago I asked about, anyone finding and having Orange Seeds to try and get them to grow in Me Neighborhood with No Offers...!!! Just thought maybee I hadn't been here long enough to Deserve Responses...?!? Was willing and still Am to Buy and Take Care of S/H also...!! :Thankyou::confused2:

@Snowman Probably because no one here has tried to grow oranges unless maybe @rice paddy daddy has done it. Not good climate for orange tree growing in most of the U.S.

We get small oranges from this tree the past few years. We drag it outside after the last frost.

It might be because none of us have any orange seeds.

I have grown lemon and grapefruit plants form seeds. I got the seeds by buying the fruit and using the seeds from the fruit. I have tried to do the same with limes, but so far, I have not found any seeds in limes, so for that one, I bought a lime plant. They are all fairly small. I have recently repotted all of them into larger pots. I have 4 grapefruits (from seed), a Meyer Lemon (purchased), a lemon (from seed), and a lime (purchased).

Edit: I want to grow orange plants as well, but haven't found any orange seeds. Sometimes, odd little stores have odd fruits, from older trees, less hybrid trees. We have odd Hispanic stores like Mercado, Save a Lot, and more. We also see trucks by the side of the road selling fruit. These might come from private orchards and people don't sell them to Safeway, Kroger, Whole Foods.

So that’s what’s growing in the back of the fridge 😂

I have two oranges on my counter for a dessert I will be making Tuesday. Those are the first oranges I have purchased in probably a decade. If they have nice looking seeds, I will save them and let you know.

We are in the north east tip of Florida, too far north for almost all citrus. The frosts would kill the trees.
I think Myer lemons can grow up here, but I'm not sure of that.
