Lately there are a couple of young cats hanging around the house again. I don’t know if they’re orphans or just enjoying the cool vibe at the house. Lol
We’re not feeding them so not sure why they like it here. 😏 Not petting them either.
I’ve never provided shelters for animals because I didn’t see the need.
@dademoss in your photos I see cat shelters and I’m very curious about what they’re made of, did you make them, were they bought, etc.
Do you provide a heat resource?
One of my sisters had been a cat helper in her city for a few years. The helpers would check locations, feed and water cats, look for new cats on location. But that was in Florida.
Just curious about what you do to help community cat population. I think you do a lot. @dademoss

The green "house" was bought a few years back, it has a heated pad. The other is a storage tub filled with straw.

They get dry cat food, and have a heated water bowl.

A local place makes shelters out of foam coolers : https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100088180057174

No heat in those, just insulated, waterproofed and filled with straw. There is one up at the country house, just in case.

They make heated outside cat houses. I use small insulated dog houses! Lots of blankets. I do have a couple of heated outside cat mats. They plug in and look like heating pads. They go nicely in the dog houses! My two girl cats snuggle together, I don't worry about them!
