It's already starting to snow, temps are dropping 5 Degrees an hour and I just set the pipes to drip. Now to enjoy my fried chicken and a sud.
We heat over 99% with wood. When I built this house I installed a forced air propane furnace with heat pump. That way when we go somewhere for the day I set the thermostat to 61 degs and it it keeps the house from getting too cold. Even when we're gone all day the furnace seldom comes on.We cut and split a lot! We burned a cord of wood this winter already, but it's the only heat. We have SIX cords split and stacked. We cut and split so much so we ALWAYS have wood. We have a cord or more cut waiting to be split now! We are blessed to have access to so much wood and to be able to process it!!
Damn, that's a lot of wood.We go through about 7 or 8 cords of wood per winter.
I think we go through almost that much.We heat over 99% with wood. When I built this house I installed a forced air propane furnace with heat pump. That way when we go somewhere for the day I set the thermostat to 61 degs and it it keeps the house from getting too cold. Even when we're gone all day the furnace seldom comes on.
We go through about 7 or 8 cords of wood per winter. Almost all of our wood is cut on forest service land that surrounds our property. A lot of times I just cut a tree down and drag it home with the tractor.
