A house about 75 to 100 yards from mine is slowly falling into a sinkhole. Started three days ago with a hole in pavement, Council came and thought it was just a water leak, but its spreading its now ten feet deep and has consumed the pavement, half the road, the front garden of two houses and now the front walls of the houses are starting to break away and fall into the hole. Had to laugh though when one of the temporary traffic signal lights was also swallowed up by the hole overnight.

I grew up in central fla and saw many sinkholes. A lot of people don’t realize that most of those small ponds and lakes are just old sinkholes. Anyways I hope your property, and the neighbors are ok.

any history of mining in your area? Cornwall is riddled with old mine workings which collapse into a sink hole over time.

Sinkholes are a great analogy. For anyone who does know Christ, there will come the Lake of Fire. And it is not a 'if', but only 'when'. One moment all is normal, and in an instant the entire ground below you disappears. Scaring people into knowing Christ isn't very effective, but this could help open some minds.

yes this area is riddled with old mines going back to iron age settlements, many of the sink holes are old mine shafts, the problem with this one apart from being under a main road is that there is no record of mine shafters or old wells this far from the old mine.

Yes kind of like the story John Hagee tells of talking with the Guy on a flight that was having engine trouble . After Hagee mentions Heaven and hell the Guy boast He doesn't believe in hell so Hagee says " Well its still there and You're still going " .

Second house now affected by the sink hole along with the main road, both are going to have to be demolished, problem is now part of the village green on the other side of the road about 50ft nearer my house appears to be showing signs of subsidance, a hollow is forming on the green.

This is so scary. I hope it doesn't affect your house.
Can you imagine getting swallowed up by one of these. The thought is terrifying.
